Andrew Masseurs and Mathew Powell were in a string of covers bands in the Nineties before meeting up with their School Band Mate Andrew Richardson to form a three piece band writing original songs. Amongst their first songs was Ammp’s All I Wanted. In 2002 Andrew M and Mathew wrote and self produced their First album. A collection of songs taken from over Ten Years of writing. Meanwhile Andrew Richardson was juggling three bands at a time. Come the TV2 Songstar competition in 2005 where Andrew M and Mathew found themselves in the top 5 of over 500 hundred songs and part of a Two Hour TV show with their song All I Wanted. Reeling in the classic bass playing of Jason Murphy And bringing home Andrew Richardson, Ammp was created to bring life to a new Batch of songs. Wanting to create something unique and exciting All I Wanted was created and received a new recording artists grant and video grant from NZ on Air And found a place on the NZ on Air hit disc. Their second song Ironman achieved the same as well as becoming the Official song for the Ironman competition in New Zealand 2007. Ammp also achieved considerable airplay having both songs play on Radio Stations like Kiwi FM and The Rock as well as TV Channels C4 and Juice and also grew a fan base spanning the world with glowing reviews from numerous Internet sites. Meanwhile Ammp’s My Space friends have climbed from 0 to 20,000. Pump Audio the number 1 site for TV and commercial use of songs in America Screened Ammp’s songs and has included them in their Pump Box moving Ammp’s songs to the World. Ammp are now ready to create an album that will excite. With the hot new single ‘Go’ Recorded by Mike Gibson and Andrew Downes from Trident Studios and mixed by award winning producer/ engineer Chris Van de geer and also Photographer Dean Zillwood (Trinity Roots Album, All Blacks) Ammp have all the necessary firepower to create something special.
