INNERNATIONAL-
EVOKING CHANGE! That’s how it all began and that’s how it continues to be.
The goal for my music is to evoke change. I started out writing music about 8 years ago because I felt there needed to be chance in my life, and consequently, music was the only thing that would move me. When I was graduating high school I realized, like every other student in my class, I had no idea what life had in store for me, or where God was going to move in my life. Then as some tough times came my way, I found myself writing poems about my feelings. In those poems were more than words, there was passion, longing for something I didn’t have, longing to be someone I wasn’t.
I knew that these poems were my outlet. Shortly after, God opened the doors of my life wide open when my grandmother bought me a guitar! That was a turning point in my life. I was 19 years old and spent every moment I could learning the guitar. I would stay up until 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning trying to play guitar tabs I downloaded off the internet. As the months went by, I started to incorporate my poems with the guitar riff I was writing. That’s when I knew God was going to use my music to evoke change in the hearts of people all over the world.
I started playing in a youth group worship team with some of my friends. The worship team became a platform for me to perform some of the songs I had written. The receptiveness of the youth group was so strong that I decided to take this music to other youth groups in hopes it would have a similar effect. I call the band SALiNE, which means “salt”. I used the bible verse from Matthew 5:13 to define our goal. We were to be “the salt of the earth” evoking change in the hearts of the youth we met. We continued to play together for a number of years, growing significantly in the Christian as well as the secular market. My goal was the same, however, no matter which audience I played for.
The members of SALiNE have since then left the band, but the music I wrote then is still living in the hearts of all the people we encountered. Now after all these years of playing shows and doing ministry I have matured in my life and focused my sights on continuing where I left off with SALiNE.
THIS IS MY CALLING
THIS IS MY LIFE
EVOKING CHANGE!
Unsettling the complacency of our hearts and our lives. This is where you come in. This is where a new mission can begin!
