Oh and you need to edit some of the silence out of the intro! Just leave one or two seconds and then get out of the blocks. I thought something had gone wrong :-))
Great vocal Gerry - I love it that you don't disguise your Scots accent, makes everything more authentic. Nice song delivered with your usual understated charm.
I had been listening to your brothers fine song many times and enjoyed. - Wonderful idea to present his songs here, Gerry!
love hearing the accent coming through, when I worked and lived down in England I often played Scottish bands to remind me of home, Runrig etc, if I was still there, I'd be listening to this as well ;-)
Rab was good, another fine example of acoustic folk here. Thanks again for sharing these
Thanks for the comment and vote on the "Alive" page. Lovely finger picked guitar opens the track and then it's into the rich and melancholic vocal delivery. I love the way your Scottish accent bleeds through lending the piece character, authenticity and nuance. It's a strong performance Gerry in the mould of all the great folk tunes i have heard throughout my life. Melodic with social commentary as its centrepiece. Enjoyed this composition a lot. James

I played in a few bands, but with my Brother (Rab) we had more success as the folk-rock dual, Riff Raff in the 1980s.We played around the folk scene in Scotland and started and hosted The Glasgow Folk Club in The Doune Bar in Broomielaw, Glasgow, with a little help from the late Danny Kyle, Folk singer and Broadcaster for BBC (Scotland) Folk programme Travelling Folk.We also got involved in opening a community recording studio in Castlemilk, south side of Glasgow. This helped local musicians and people free access to a 16 track studio with tutoring for most instruments, and recording engineering. All the best Gerry
