What are your reasons for not posting here any more?

Not a Rant, more of a discussion. Well it might be if people actually post and no tumble weed comes by

I am wondering why the forum is so quiet lately? What are your personal reasons for not posting here any more?

Is it that Facebook and Twitter have taken away our attentions from using forums these days? Is it that you just can't be bothered to chat here any more? Is it that we are so familiar with each other it's just got stale? Is it just winter and no one has much to say?

Ironically the Facebook page is busy, as is the main upload section/front page.

Feel free to share your thoughts............I'm curious.

Ess

I'm too busy moving house (again). It's been hectic in January for me. I do think xmas has got something to do with it as well and the cold weather and snow.

Facebook !

I think most the active members on here are FB friends.

For me anyway, I believe it's everything to do with Facebook. No need to post on forums and be accountable for what you type. You have pretty much full control on what happens. You can change settings so people who you don't like/get on with don't view what you are doing.

You can share your music with like minded people and hit your target audience.
I just think Facebook makes life much easier and for me at least alot less hassle having to deal with numpties

I agree with Ricky. FB. It connects people in ways that forums like this can't really do. (Erik Jurado: should that be "do really").

I forgot we had a rant section...somebody open a window,it's very musty in here lol.
Perhaps life is sooo good now,we have nothing to rant about

Got to say, from personal experience that a decline in posts isn't unique to this forum.
Fessbook is definitely a major culprit (and Tw@tter) but that can't be the only reason.

I think a lot of people only visit this site to upload their latest track and no other reason.
Once they've bigged themselves up,they disappear...till the next upload.
They probably don't spend enough time here to even notice that there is a forum.

Even though there's a bit more anonymity on the forums, people seem to be scared of voicing an opinion,in case they upset a potential listener/commenter,or dare I say...voter
Personally,I've always preferred the more colourful characters on the boards...and it's often reflected in their music (but not always lol)

Then there's apathy...''If no one else can be bothered posting, why should I?''
I'm guilty of this

I've not been here as long as some, but long enough to remember some very entertaining squabbles lol...I miss 'em

I find myself caught in a Russellian paradox because of this thread (*shakes fist at Essence* - "damn you Ess")

He it was (Bertrand Russell, that is) who first posited the paradox best summed up by the sentence "everything I say is a lie" thereby creating a perfect paradox.

If I post I stop becoming a member who never posts any more and if I don't I can't provide the reasons why.

I'll let you all know when I've made my mind up what to do.

I find generally that nobody can be arsed about anything these days, both in the real world and here in never-never land. Fed up now. Laterz...

I have to agree with Ricky and also KTA. Facebook is easier to manage and also alot faster. I think that is a key point really. I can post on Facebook and get almost immediate responses. We used to have that with this forum though, but other social sites are more prevalent these days.

Also as KTA points outs, forums in general are dying out some what. I look at many more than I post in, and this is definitely a common theme.

As for you my friend Grey B, You answered your own question "If I post I stop becoming a member who never posts any more". ...........You posted , there for you care x

I wouldn't like this forum to just die out like alot of other sites have in the past. But I guess that depends on the users of this forum

Thankyou for your thoughts and reasons. Ess
