Well, most Chicago rock fans remember me as the side man in the dangerously funny, beer-soaked punk and powerpop band Genral Patton and His Privates, a Chicago north side fixture. I still love playing live gigs and recording with the Genral but I don't have much time these days.
I started Big Yellow Hand Studios to write radio spots and background music for commercials and ended up forming the Steaming Dookies, a band name I had made up for a fake album ad on a voice-over demo I was working on. As a gag, I started posting heavy industrial music on a few sites under the Dookies name and people started downloading it like mad.
I began collaborating with other artists from around the world via FTPs and emails. Now, Steaming Dookies are everywhere on DJ playlists in the US, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Canada, the UK, Australia and more. I watched as they went to the top of the charts on BroadJam, MP3 Australia, Songplanet, acidplanet, Funender, and so many others I have lost track.
Frequently Asked Question: Will you ever change your name? It's not funny, is annoying for DJs to say on live radio, and we just don't like it!
Answer: Right now, it would be search engine suicide to change the Dookies moniker, but one day, yes I probably will change it!For more info on the Dookies, Big Yellow Hand stock music and loops, and a bunch of cool stuff, go to our website link on this page. You can purchase our latest release "Lycanthropy" at your fave music download site (iTunes, Napster, Yahoo Music, MSN Music, and many more) or by clicking here!
Brought to you by Big Yellow Hand Records and Experimental Division Nashville Records, it features 18 blistering new tracks from Chicago's new innovators of electronic rock!
