Wake of the Kittiwake
Very beautiful music, the piano's are superb and so well played, and I loved the surf intro, and flute sounds, nice melody carries on along in a peaceful reverie! Cheers, Andrew
I like the relaxing intro with the piano and the sound of the waves. Really nice playing, nice use of reverb. The strings and flute are really good. Really enjoyed :)
liked that left hand/left side and right hand -right side panning...flute was a delightful presence..wasn't sure if the title was referencing declining gull populations or the water breaking on the sea shore where the gulls frequent....either interpretation works, ...nice musical elements weaving through this composition and exchanging melodic lines,,,guitar...harp...choir..strings...and more (oboe in there?)...so tastefully following the ebb and flow of the waves along the shore :) (not sure what the clicking was at 26s and 28s? seems to be in the waves sample because it reappears mid 3 min.) Welcome back...don't think I've heard a composition from you for a while....worth the wait :)
A beautiful calming piece of music. Well done!
nice piano playing, nicely orchestrated and well written piece
To greater or lesser degrees of ineptitude, I have been making music since 1976, first with the band Lakeside and continuing until 1986 with Lakeside's keyboards man and fellow songwriter/composer, John Williams (we called ourselves Cro Magnon for a while.)
Since then I have been mainly going it alone, although still collaborating with John and many others over the years.
The recordings here date from 2004. I know there are many shortcomings - poor execution, mixing, production and particularly the voice but if you can listen through all that, I like to think I can knock out a song with decent lyrics and melody but ultimately that is for the listener to decide.
Thanks to any and everyone that takes the time and trouble to listen, comment and even vote for any of my songs/pieces. It is greatly appreciated and all feedback of whatever nature is valued (but please smile as you stick the knife in!)
