Secret Smile (Ft Annette Scott&Tim; Tucker)
MTB: Thats very kind!! Lovely review !! Thats a really nice compliment.. Many thanks for listening... GLad you enjoyed it.. Dave and Annette
Sorry to have taken a while to get to this. I also had to pause this to get a beer! It made me think of bars and listening to a class act! The arrangement is a gem - the counter melodies on the sax compliment the beautiful soulful vocals really brilliantly. The percussion is also first rate - I also like the different singing styles. Its a strong idea when you sing a duet later in the track - This wouldn't be out of place in a movie, even as the credits roll kind of thing.
Smooth sound. Nice duet work. Good contrast of singing styles. I used to sing love songs with a guy standing right next to me so the fact you can do this thousands of miles away is simply amazing. I heard the difference between the vocal recording. I can see a video where the two singers are in separate places, both thinking of each other at the same time, instead of singing to each other. Great work by all parties.
Came back for another listen, Great Music.
Pro sounding track to my ears...yepp,very smoooooth.Nice work guyz. R8ed.
Keep it smooth Dave, nice job - and to all involved, big ups. Peace.
Thank you guys!! Youth, always have time for you mate. Thanks for the message. Be in touch later. Tony..Your right, annette is of course in the good old uk tim is in the USA...Different set ups and recording methods... Its impossible to get it perfect.. I dont have a problem with it but i know its down to personal taste.. Thanks Dan degs and riddle...appreciate all your time and thoughts :-) Dave&Annette; and Tim.
Vin; Youth; Deggsy,Tony and Dan...thank you so much for your feedback..and really pleased that you enjoyed this song....Annette Dave and Tim :-) Dave..and Tim...a pleasure always!! your music makes me smile :-)))
Cool song and wonderful performances. First class music from all.... Dan
Sp.... is supposed to be sp@rse but this stupid software censored it!!!
Smooth indeed. Sp.... arrangement works very well. I agree with below, Tim's voice is better set in the mix, could be just a reverb issue. Were they recorded in different situations, maybe using different reverbs? I wonder whether a much dryer vocal sound would give a more intimate feel, which is what the song is all about. Anyhoo, minor crits. Worthy of a rate, guys.
Smooth Stuff you 3 , Excellent Music Dave and with Annettes Smooth Vocals and Tim With his touch Very Nice indeed,As Riddle Said great When the Two Vocals Meet... Your on a great Run of Class Tracks WELL DONE to ALL...ABP.
Dave m8...it took a track from you to get me to log in here again and comment...lol ;) Musically and in terms of arrangement there's a lovely early 80's feel 'a la' Jeffrey Osborne - think "On The Wings Of Love"...One can always hear potential improvements but this stands up fine. This said I would propose that you look at the vox placement in the spectrum as Tim's vocal is IMHO better placed in the mix as it has a fuller sound to it than Annette's (sounded a little further back to me)...and I also believe that you could have made much more of their joint harmony chorus BUT hey you didn't expect me to not mention some of my personal views to improve it, lol ;)
Oh yeah this is good stuff, I love it when two or more sing a great song, The production skills are top notch, I already feel like this is playing all over the world.
DNA: Dave Meredith (Worlds Apart Productions) and Annette Scott (Storm Horses). We both met in december 2009. Dave sent Annette a piece of music to ask if she would like to sing on the track?. Annette loved it and a song was born.A song that topped the charts here at MP3U and a song that also featured long time friend and Soul/Jazz/RNB singer Tim Tucker from my project "(Swurve)....
WE BOTH REALLY HOPE YOU ENJOY OUR WORK HERE ON THIS PAGE.. ALL OUR SONGS WILL BE FREE DOWNLOADS IF YOU DESIRE TO DOWNLOAD A SONG OR SONGS YOU LIKE?.. MANY THANKS
DAVE MEREDITH:
Some of you will aready know that I record and produce music. Ive been doing this for over 15 years. Over 200 songs recorded with various artists and friends and a huge stack of music only work. Under the name of "Worlds Apart Productions". I sequence and loop the drum tracks,I play in the bass, keys, guitars…synths and create my music from my soul.. in realtime, what you hear is all played and recorded live in my home studio. My PC is just my recording and mixing device. I blend realtime true playing from workstations with the recording power of a PC. I was signed to indie lable "Melodrift Productions" where i had a digital deal. I wrote a song called "Innocence Falls" which went on to be the title track for the album and this album was sold in and around Spain. The song was played on the radio and reviews and mentioned in a magazine. I met Annette Scott in Dec 09 and since that amazing time we have gone on to record many many songs together. We have been taken back by the nice comments from other members and for having the number one spot a few times here at MP3 with our releases.... As we both already have seperate pages for our own work on MP3U we decided we would put together a page and a new band......"DNA :Dave Meredith/Annette Scott" and keep all our work on this new band page. Annette is an experienced vocalist and songwriter/composer and her amazing voice, talent and passion for music is as strong as mine and im so excited and happy to be working with such a great artist and person. Annette has given me a new leash of life in music and given my songs a whole new feel and aura. Annette Scott: Music has been a passion of mine since the day I was born...I was sung to as a child and music always filled our house!...so it was'nt hard to imagine that as I grew older, that passion developed more.! I started to learn Piano from the age of 13 and had my first electronic Keyboard by the age of 18, I used to sing and write songs but at that time never had any proper recording equipment... I got by as you did, by using two tape recorders...the sound was of course crude , but it captured the ideas that I wanted to create. In my late twenties I was fortunate enough to sing in a couple of Jazz clubs around the North West of England. and was asked to lay down a vocal at Strawberry Studios in Stockport for a friend who had written a song for an African Charity it was a cover version of "Little Red Rooster" a classic track by The Rolling Stones" For me personally, I feel my musical journey has just begun, from joining MP3U and initially setting up "Storm Horses" and then meeting Dave Meredith, I just cannot believe the kind of songs that I have had the good fortune to sing on. Dave has written such beautiful melodies...which any vocalist out there would be thrilled to sing on and from the very first song that we teamed up on called "Golden Girl" featuring the amazing "Tim Tucker" I just felt as if I had come "Home"...I just loved Dave's music and still do! Remember: Links to our seperate pages at MP3U are in the "LINKS" section of this page..
