Sleeping With The Blues
First thing that stands out is the production quality...awesome m8. Great solo too and the vocal work is crystal.
Hey, Craig! I didn't hear the original version of this song but I haven't commented in a while or on one of your songs for quite some time for that matter. So if you don't mind... I'd like to, since I've been let loose! hehe! At the very beginning, you really whale that guitar. Makes for a cool intro. Then you bring your voice in and it sounds great! I've heard your older recordings and I can definitely tell you got a new mic! Your voice sounds so much clearer and it really makes all the goodness in it stand out! Wow, man! What a difference just from that alone. Did you get other goodies too? Cuz this is like a night and day difference from what I've heard from you in the past. I'm not saying it wasn't good or anything, all your songs are cool, but the quality is like... whoa! Even if I haven't heard the previous version of this song in particular. The BD has a wonderful punchy rumble and sounds great. You've outdone yourself with this one, man. I can tell a huge difference from a while back when I was actually commenting. I'm listening on my old/new vintage monitors. All the ranges are there and can be heard just fine. That guitar has some super cool riffs going on and I love the solo. The lyrics of the song are brilliant as well. Lots of emotion put into this. You really sound like you have the blues! Everything sounds fantastic. The arrangement of everything fits very nicely. It's a bit long but it gets the message across. It's a healthy song, that's for sure. And like always, you have a cool sounding snare. Kind of a brush sound to it this time around. Very good nevertheless. The mixing and mastering are done superbly. I would describe the production style to be very polished and vibrant. Super clear as well. I'm truly impressed! I'm really happy for you. This is wonderful. Not a single thing is out of place. Blew me away, man. I want to see this one in the top 5 for sure. Good luck! Gotta vote this one. Have a great day!
A good quality bit of Blues. I havent heard previous versions but for me this is pretty cool, I like it. The lyrics are clever and well thought out which is quite hard not to be a cliche in a Blues song, a cleche they are not. I've only mixed vocals once, many years ago so I cant comment on how the vox sits in the mix, but to me it sounds good. Cool axe work too.
Not my genre but awesome tune, LOL!! Great vocal, guitar and production...brother.
Craig this just fantastic my friend. I'm a huge fan of blues based rock. The keyboard really flushed the track out. I'm going to give it another rate my friend. Eric Bad Love Junkie
Love the guitar work and the guts in the drums in the hook.. There is a cool live feel going on here.. Im know little of this style, sorry. I like the style though, the trasnsistion from verse to hook is good.. Vocal is good would have maybe like to have heard some harmonies but maybe thats not part of this style?.. Thanks for sharing buddy
Craig, like those pipes (yours and the of course the one's you added way way way back in the back...;0(...). Almost missed them they are so well mixed in..;-). Just a totally sweet tune always and the vox and axeletron are just first rate! Dan Dan
Great track...missed it first time around Not my genre, but nice production and lovin the guitars.Nice one
Keyboard's a nice touch, delicate and quite effective. Mix has got an interesting balance to it and sounds really good through my headphones. Great song, Craig! Glad you brought it back out...
This is a fantastic track, in fact the best track we've come across in our couple of months on this site. Excellent vocals & guitar. Good song, structure and production. Its a winner! Chart nominated Reminds me of Bon Jovi's - Dead or Alive
Great song Craig. Excellent guitar on this.
Gday Craig, pretty much all been said. Great track and I fully agree with Dawn, the chorus is brilliant mate. Top stuff and I think peopel will be looking for more from the Blue Pidgeman. Rated, cheers Anton.
Hey there, Very very nice, there's nothing that can compare to a great blues tune, and this is a great blues tune! Everything works to my ears, like the kickin' guitar solo especially. Very catchy with some nice hooks too. Awesome!
def one of your best man, a great listen.
You know I love the blues, this does it for me, great tune Craig!
I have just realised that your voice is utterly perfect for the blues, Craig. You have that soulful sound in it that I never could put my finger on before...you sound close to tears as you sing...brilliant! I think the lyric is excellent but it's the chorus that is completely knockout. Loved it!!!
i like the guitar tone alot, works well, and the vox are right on target.. would love to hear some background organ filling the middle, but it works well on its own for sure.... just about to leave for a blues gig as we speak, so this put me in the mood! well done Craig!
Great songwriting bud. You did this at 17, wow. Yeah has a dirty feel for me to, which I love. Love the hook. Production is spotless as usual. Loads of emotion in this one Craig. Rated. Barry
Nice intro C and like how you accompany the vocals with that great guitar work, sounds very original to me. Hmm I like this a lot, I think it is one of my favourites of yours fella - main thing is that great guitar work and the vocals, nice one m8ey!
Get down Brother Craig, Yer becoming quite the string slinger my bro, sounds good to me, nice tone on the axe.rated
Oh man, does this capture that angst, that overpowering sense of aloneness, I remember nights like these! Hell of a song, Craig, beautiful tone you're getting outta that guitar and fantastic vocals, I wish I could hold a note like that! Personally, I like the "spare" accompaniment, keeping the focus where it belongs in a tune like this, squarely on the vocals and lead. Well done, rated!
Great this is a really cool, dirty groove, even a bit are I say Hendrixey (never thought I'd say that to you lol) Haven't heard your guitar sound better, brilliant :) Rated
Great ass kicking track! Love the blues anyways and this just rocks. The production is fantastic as well E Z Rate Eric bad love junkie
Sounds good to me craig...love how u get the seperation i constantly crave for. Cystal clear throughtout. Nice axework mr;) Vox is sittin pretty too... so, gets my vote!
Like the new mix - just a thought - could it do with a little melodic variation in the chorus, just to lift it from the verse - but keep the last line hook, that works!
Craig, sounds just sweet to me. Like you playin the blues. While the vox is in the back of perc, it is perfectly understandable. Works for me anyway....ABP...Dan
Agree with Ricky. Drums too in yer face and vox lags behind dude. Drums strokes are right but need more subtlety. Lyrics would help cos I'm a dead lazy listener. Still rated... just xx
some nice axe work for sure...don't care for the percussion...plus its 2 loud for the track...the vocals could do with been turned up a bit more...or just brought forwards...the drums let this down for me...has a kind of rhcp feel to the vocal melody...very nice guitar tho Craig worth the rate alone thumbs up
Now I can't get the tune out of my head! Good one!
I've got one like that - started in 1969, finished in 2008! Nice guitar tone, LP and Pod by any chance? Vocals and loose rhythm track give me a Neil Young/Crazy Horse feeling. A little more bass required perhaps?
I know that all of us musicians feel a sense of loyalty to the first site we made home, and I've mad a few of those over the years I have been on the internet. Coming from a longtime residency on the Usenet MOD forums back in the day (ie 1990's) I was fiercely loyal to my first MP3 sites. Of course that all went tits up when we discovered that our site (MP3.com as was) was an extremely commerc
I've had a long affiar with the blues for a long time so I always enjoy hearing other artists take on it. This offering comes courtesy of Craig aka Pidgeman. A song written, according to the blurb, when he was the tender age of 17. Now at the ripe old age of 33 he decided that the dust covers needed to be lifted off of this musical tome and given a fresh airing. The first
