Hooked from the start-- cool sounding acoustic type of riff. I also really like the guitar at around 1:27 and 2:05. Great lyrics and vocals too! Thumbs!
Hey Erick, I remember hearing this before I think but I am sorry to hear of your loss. It is a tribute to your uncle that you thought enough about him to pen this re-do in his honor! I love the pace and rhythm of this track! Great work! Kudos!
I enjoyed listening to your lyrically heartfelt tribute, Erik~ sorry to hear of your loss... I think your Uncle would be so proud of you. Such a prolific, and talented songwriter you are. =Kudos=
This is a great song and a lasting tribute Erik.
Still amazing
Fitting tribute to your uncle Erik - lyrics are very emotive . Love the prog rock sounding guitars - expecting the track to kick off with the full band sound after a couple of minutes - glad you didnt do what was expected and focused on the acoustic rhythm and lead (quite frantic at times - as is your style) which really complimented the edgy but emotionally charged vocal.
This is an excellent song Erik, it's thoughtful and haunting, with an incredible sounding middle guitar section, which sounds (to me) like Segovia or John Williams! Powerful singing and playing, great recording, with great use of stereo panning, a top song, 5 stars! Cheers, Andrew
I lost my mum 13 years ago to breast cancer, she was only 42. So many years missed.. It's tough loosing someone close and nothing better than to write a great song to remember them by! Have my vote!
its a painful thing when you lose someone close and writing a song for them is to always remember a life that was special in every way its a very nice thing to do you get our vote
love your acoustic work, nice accompaniment to a darker, brooding lyric. Sorry to hear of your loss. Liked your 1/16 note picking...quick and precise. Sweet one here, Erik. Thumbs!
Hi Erik, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. What a fine tribute to Kenny. I like the way you panned the guitars far to each side. A rocker's way to mix always keeps it interesting. Watch those EQ mids on you vocal Sir. Just up them a tad and see the clarity arise. A lovely rendered and beautiful track here my friend.
Very cool track. Has a raw, and very loose feel that works well. The guitar playing is unique, as well as the melody. Overall we dig what you do. A+ and an easy vote. Keep the faith!
