I was waiting for the 5minute mark to see if my previous 2007 comment still struck a "chord". Yes it freakin well does!!! Ya got a thumb etc..
Yeah, nice one dude hee hee
Just listening back over this old track - really ...ed off I lost the drive that had all the original recordings on it. So much improv was involved that is impossible to recreate. I've tried to rerecord this track several times but the feel has never been the same and I don't have the patience to work out all of the multi layering again... If I still had the original recording I could remix it and fix all of the mistakes:( Anyway, still happy to have this one in the vault - the lead guitar in the second half is almost entirely made up on the spot which is what makes this one a pivotal track for me. Seems weird to be commenting on my own track..... eh, nice one dude! :-)
Nice riff at the heart of this song - the vox samples are mostly a bit low in the mix - but terrific energy and guitar playing. Coming from a dance production background I hear a lot of potential in the kind of fx you could add to this - sirens - explosions - delays on the vox - but having said that, there is enough excitement in the drums and guitar for anyone!
Can;t wait to hear the finished work. There is really lots of room to play with on these ideas. It can really really go round the universe and back. Hope you knwo what I mean :) As usual, jaw-dropping technique and great taste in the tone selection.
this piece just scorches! i love it! the intro just grabs the listener by the throat and screams "yo! check this out!" =] thanks for allowing me the opportunity to work with you. i hope it works out.
Great job Dave.....a true shredder! You musta come ouuta the chute with that guit in your hand. wicked! R8!
Yeah Bro I can defo hear the difference. Keeps gettin sweeter and sweeter. You'd better cool down those fingers man. You've given this track alot of thought and it shows. Not just some shredfest, Bravo so far brother. R,R Nom
This is Warpspeed with proper drums and suitably sinister narration courtesy of Morgan Freeman. There is a definite John Schaffer influenced vibe to the riffs used around 0:43, but the unmistakeable Superhuman trademark is very much evident. I love the Slayeresque riffs from 2:00, and of course there's the shred! Look forward to hearing the finished article.
Pretty cool. Like the way you've fitted in the narration, works well here. Good riffs and nice soloing and melodies. Need to get that bass in there though. Rated. Craig
Strong, intense, electrifying! My gosh man you rock! I am so impressed I just don't know what to say really! BRAVO!!! :)
Hi Dave, Super cool playin !!!! Tone and chops up the yin yang !!!!
Awesome!! Yep, that's the word - aww it faded out :( More please! xJade
rock on man! lol....this is a crazy track, but it's great, could def catch on with the public. xx
kewl man..............very kewl
As always great guitar work, interesting enough to pull it off without losing the listener, and thats realy hard for tracks like this, so well done. I can see what you mean about re recording it without all the effects, If done properly this would have twice as much power, which would blow away alot of guitarists trying stuff like this, Im always impressed by your playing and writing and this one is no different. Loved it Steve
gets my vote dude. top tune love the sample vox .. kool melodies galore.. nice perc / drums rated!
I think the guitaring at the 5min mark is bloody great and god bless you for playing it deliberately off and givin it some soul
Highly competent guitaring dude. How often are you able to grow your fingers back hee hee. You must get that drum track sorted to make this the awesome track it needs to be. Still gets a rate on qual playing dude.
OK, latest version, better arrangement and the timing on the samples has been tightened up.
Interesting track...you play like a demon :-) Love everything I've heard so far and would easily stay on board for another 2 minutes especially if you're gonna take it somewhere else. Great work! Martin
Wait a minute... I know that tune.... Warpspeed. Yeah that's cool what you've done with the delay/double track and the nice lil gallop that follows. I like the variations you've added. Genious as always; the end gets ominous but also has a "childs taunt" vibe to it. I know of other great albums that have a variation to a track on side two. I think you may want to think about adding "First Contact" in ( ) to the title of Warpspeed or you could add (Warpspeed) to the title of this track. You are no doubt the most talented artist here Dave. I can't wait to hear the next 2 minutes! I'll give it the rate now and the nom & DL when it's finished. My buds all agree that you rank right up there w/Vai & Satch. Keep those silky sweet juices flowing M8!
Sounds are incredible Dave, and your shreds are off the hook as usual my friend. Can't wait to hear what you come up with for that solo. Great appegios, flawless. Rated
yup the mids are it here... but incredible as always.. Im not home with my system so I cant really judge the mix...but great talent man!!!
I'll just comment on the track - I love it !! I shall leave the mixing advice to those better equipped lol, sounds a bit bunched in the middle though and when the solo comes in needs a boost at the top end then it will flyyyyyyyy :)

Superhuman comprises one damaged Irish guitarist and random collections of notes composed during various bouts of madness. Some tracks are obviously influenced by vastly greater players I grew up listening to but I've been trying to forge my own style which is becoming more evident in my later tracks. If anyone ever wants to collaborate on anything I'm always interested. If you like any of my tracks please leave a comment, a rate and a facebook like!

Working on a collab with Kelly Mitchell at the moment over a backing created by Torquestra. It's a neoclassical piece which sounds very cool. Have yet to add my parts but am very impressed by what Kelly has put together so far.
When Dave “Superhuman” Kelly asked me to write this review, I think I knew instinctively that it was likely to be one of my more meandering efforts and that has indeed proved to be the case. You have been warned! So let me now try and explain why that should be the case. There can’t be too many people with access to a TV or the internet who haven’t yet seen the film of when Susan Boyle walked
It used to be that world class shredders (Ed: fast guitarists) were a rare event but these days I'm always tripping over them. That's not to say that I actually LIKE the shredding side of metal because I'm not so sure I do. Too much of a 'look-at-me-going-as-fast-as-I-can' playground thing attached to it if ya ask me. The shreds the thing, not the tune that underlies it. Mi
Was just floating by and discovered this artist, Thank the stars i did, malmsteen kinda topped off this style and I remember thinking fuck how can anyone top this guy........? rhandy Rodes whoa. So bearing in mind my above hero's and influences, Ive found this guy, fret work outstanding, composition unflawed, melodic composition top hole, Im gonna be following this guy closely an
God, I wish I were. Superhuman, that is. I find out later that Dave Kelly (aka the aforementioned alpha human) is merely superhuman, he's Irish too. Which, of course, amounts to pretty much the same thing in my book. Now then, if you are wondering whether I am dragging the Blarney Stone around with me to curry favour with advanced beings, think again. I'm merely going
Next up is a track from Superhuman called "Hellucination" another hard rocking guitar instrumental. All this shreddage is doing wonders for my rock cred on the site so bring it on lol :) Looking at Dave's bio on his page, seems he is a self taught taught guitarist who plays by ear and plays everything on this track. I've noticed from previous tracks of his I have listened to he has a very god work
As soon as you hit the play button, you very quickly realise that this guy can certainly play the guitar well! As a metal fan during my teens (and still, to a degree), I've come to appreciate a well-played solo! This one last for almost three minutes, and it's this solo that forms the entire basis for the track! While there's no doubt that the solo is both complex and brilliant, some may find it h
This is my first ever review, and I chose a simpler song by Superhuman instead of one of his masterpieces, so already you could surmise that I feel unequal to the task of reviewing a powerhouse guitarist. But still, I think an objective opinion can be made, on the basis of music-is-to-be -enjoyed, and I'll approach this from my own perspective towards music. The "Angels" are Superhuman's little
To day I will be reviewing one of the superstars of mp3unsigned SUPERHUMAN(Dave). I asked him to tell me about his background, the following is his reply: I am 100% self thaught, I learned to play the guitar by visualising patterns on the fretboard, to be honest I have a tough time remembering the names of the strings, musical theory escapes me but I learned by listening to greate
songwriting - I like the structure of this song, it loses my interest a couple of times for a brief moment, but then pulls me back with an interesting change, the way the drums roll back and forth from on the beat to off is particularly interesting, I hate doing that myself, but it does work in a track like this. I did find however that at the beginning of the track the drums were a little out of
My overall feeling about this track was pretty good. Dave is a good guitar technician. Dave's sound quality is excellent, and the recoding quality is also excellent. I liked the War of Worlds spoken overdubs. The song is about 6 minutes long. probably too long for average commercial appeal. however, for other guitar players and maybe even a movie score the length would be fine as it is. I wou
