I am just blown away by the talent on this site lately....I really do not spend enough time here....this is exquisite Peter and so perfect for a pirate movie, I can't think why it wasn't in Pirates of the Caribbean...I must write and tell them what they missed out on!!!!

The compliment you pay me in what you say about your family tradition is quite moving. I am very pleased to know that such a humble render of one of my works can draw such enthusiasm. PIRATES is truly cinematic in several respects. First, your thematic material is evocative of so many of the elements that constitute an incident on the high seas. The percussion and rather savage staccato figures suggest hand-to-hand combat while the harp and chimes suggest foam like whirling white hair blown off waves of the sea. And your tasteful use of sound effects beautifully rounds off another fine production. It was an exciting listen. Merry, or as you British say, Happy Christmas to you and yours. May you enjoy good health and much productivity!

Ah ha Pete me lad this is a sonic treat with some outstanding orchestration, no wonder it caught the ear of our Mr F ...what is it about pirates that makes a big boy suddenly want to roll back the years and swing from a rope or buckle ones swash :)

Fandabidozy Peter!! This is rich and energetic. A great piece of work.EWQL by any chance ? A truly wonderful backdrop to a soundtrack of this nature. Paints great imagery keeping the listener engaged.The flute/harp interlude is a fascinating section and all the melodies associated with it are sublime leading to a dramatic end I am sure . Ahh here it comes with the percussion building to a crescendo. It is always hard to end a track of this nature but it has to end somehow. A credit to you PV be proud. Gets my vote > Take Care Andy :)

nothing like a big cinematic piece to start the week, and few can do it better that you, Mr. Vines. Steeped in history and mystery, you draw upon that awareness to craft a piece that carries us through crashing seascapes to tranquil waters of a tidal pool...to..digging for Blackbeard's treasure in Oak Island, Nova Scotia?... all aboard a pirate's ship? That has a certain swagger to it :) Well dine, Peter!
