Can't Wait ... . . (Collab with A Tuesday Paradox)
Very retro, like when I would listen to the music on the radio when I was a kid in the car with my mother driving around. Tony Orlando & Dawn, Sonny and Cher, Freddy Fender and all that. Good vibe and great memories. Thanks. Mike
Well, that was surprising. I take a break for a few years, and when I get back, and start finally listening to music once again - I discover that so many of the artists are now experimenting with different musical styles. I certainly never expected t hear some genuine Northern Soul on MP3Unsigned - It makes me want to put on my Sta-press trousers and head down to Wigan Casino. Vocals are excellent, and just right for the flavour of the song. This is myu first exposure to A Different Paradox, but I'll be sure to look out for more. Musically it hits all the right notes, and actually sounds pretty authentic - given that it's basically an electronic rendering of the sound. Couldn't ask for more.
Started out listening to your tribute "Years" but got impatient; I couldn't wait to get to "Can't Wait"...this tune's been running through my head nonstop for what seems like hours at a time since I first heard it :) Excellent tune!
I wasn't able to vote again? Maybe it's on the competition page... I'll look
Hey Phil... Glad ya brought this beauty back. You two just made an already choice for a winner even harder... Nice work and best of luck! Eric
Oh this is so good, what a great collab and an excellent entry for the compo. Good luck guys
Reminds very much of 70s mainstream pop. Phil McCool. Well worked collab. Good luck
This has me keeping the faith. Just putting on my leather trench coat and Oxford bags. Electro Northern Soul, well cool.
A pleasure to sing on such a great track, when I heard the backing I couldn't resist having a go, thanks for a brilliant mix Phil...
i love the sixties feel to this song that takes me back when was a kid the production is great it has modern twist to a classic sound
Got my feet tapping this songs moves along at a good tempo, enjoyed it. 'Stevie C'
What a fun song! I agree, Phil, Kevin did a great job on this one. His diction is crisp and clear; his intonation, perfect. You, sir, display an impressive wizardry in music construction. You seem to have a knack for every genre you tackle. Moreover, you make music making seem easy. This was a joy!
What a treat.. Two of my favorites for sure... I know how hard it is to try and mix a track like this... I pretty much love anything with Kevin's vocals on it. Add this one to the list.. Enjoyed this very much! Best, Eric
I knew this would go places...from idea to this manifestation. Solid backing ideas capturing the Motown feel (brass stabs in the back are classic touches that you managed so well, Phil)...Kevin captures the feel so well and has found a tune to sink some creative teeth into. Between the two of you, the skill set brought to a clear focus in this tune is just such a fine example of creative collaborating. The vinyl touch was a bonus! :)
Yep....first track In 3 weeks Ive heard...and what a beaut! Gibbo's vocal is bang on...you can always rely on the Gibbvox! Just what this track needed! ..really dig that bass-line of course... K
Gibbo's vocal is on the money big time. Good collab dudes. The middle break sounds a lot different to the original WiP - much better - like a tubular bell or summat like that has been added. It's got a bit of a beegees vibe to the vocal in places. Thumzup, good work.
Good production and deffo got that Northern Soul vibe. Thumbs
Hi Dave ... yes lyrics are 99% Gibbo's ... A few tweaks here and we had a great track... Thanks - Phil
My older Brother was a souler, off to Wigan every weekend he could!! As a lover of nearly all music, I embraced it!! It would indeed be a bold statement to say this was the birth of dance music!! But I said it anyway, haha!! Some of the sounds remind me of Mood Mosaic', " A Touch Of Velvet, A Sting Of Brass!! This is brilliant mate and took me back!! Thumbs up Man and massive respect!! Baz
Yup, those vocals were all this needed, great job with those Kevin...these lyrics yours? Excellent song, Phil, gonna be humming this for awhile. Rated!
Great Northern Soul track, Phil. Took me back a few years! Great work; well done.
Finally this site seems to be up and running again, WOW! what an awesome track, it works for me big time, love this Soul sound, brilliant and lively and happy, well done Phil and Gibbo! Cheers, Andrew
Hi,
I have played the piano a long time now, I was classically trained from the age of 6 and sold my soul to Blues and Jazz at the age of 14. ♦
I've played in a number of bands, from rock to soul, funk, jazz & blues. Recorded in some great studios and toured extensively throughout the UK and Scandinavia, many years ago. ♦
I enjoy composition, improvisation and music in any number of styles with an eclectic taste in what I enjoy listening to. I've recently started playing regularly again and writing and recording music, originally just to hear what my improvisations sound like when recorded, but now I find how much I enjoy writing and composing all over again. ♦
I really enjoy the ego-free zone, energy, inspiration & talent on this site. ♦
I compose with ..
Yamaha MM6 keyboard
Ableton Live9
Dell laptop
Sennheiser headphones d(".")b
Arturia Analogue Lab and Minilab
EWQL Gold
Drums tracks composed on G-Stomper & Ableton
& A dash of inspiration
I hope you enjoy listening, constructive comments are always welcome :...
Thanks
