My name is Jonna Lee and I'm a 24 year old "singer/songwriter" as in writing and performing what you've written and not just as the music category, from Fagelsta, but now living in Stockholm, Sweden. I'm not signed to any label, but I release my music through my websites for people to download. I recently started an acoustic liveclub in Stockholm, to widen the livescene for independent artists. _______________________________________________________________ There are so many things I could write here but I find it hard to chose from all that I've been up to. This is what I remember clearly: _______________________________________________________________ I grew up in Fagelsta, a little somewhere outside of Motala, southern Sweden. I enjoyed fishing, singing and cakes of all kind and I loved to live in that place. I started doing music full time when I was 16. I got signed to a small label in Stockholm after sending lots of demos everywhere. l released my first album in 1998. I went to Japan in 1999 for some shows and that was a great experience. After a year or so I got bored of the little town I'm from so I moved to London on my own to look for this guy I fancied (yep). I found him and we broke up after two weeks. I stayed anyway and got a job as a session-singer and a bartender at the HQ's in Camden town. I shared a house in 7 Hawley rd with some real funny people, landlord Pete Roston and also Pete Doherty, who's now in every magazine availible to buy. ___ I went to Moscow, the winter of 2001 to do a session-job and that was so weird. Absolutly crazy! I played guitar and backed up Lasse Lindh for a period and we went to Barcelona in 2002 and played the rather large venue Razzmatazz. I moved to Stockholm in 2002 and started writing alot of music. I met Johan Prosell who's the frontman of one of my favourite bands, doublePark, in 2002. We started writing songs together. We recorded demos and drank alot of latte's. We had some songs in a movie called Babylonsjukan in 2003. I got myself a job at a cinema wich I still work in. I love film. In late fall 2003, I met Michael Dixon, who's the manager of Ron Sexsmith, my favourite songwriter. Michael and I started working together. In May 2004 I went to Los Angeles to work with producer Charles Fischer. We almost recorded a whole album there, but we couldn't continue working together because of financials. Sad. Money ruled that situation as many others. LA was absolutly great though. ____ I found Richard Krantz who's a pedalsteel guitarist through common friends in 2005 and we started playing together. In June 2005 we produced an EP together, namned "What it takes" (wich you can find to purchase on this website) in a studio owned by Calle Von Schoenberg. After that, we played alot together live and with drummer Anders Olsson we did a small tour in London in January 2006 and had so much fun. In January, after coming back to London, my idea of starting a club became a reality and Pop Marathon's first night opened on February 24. I'm now very much looking forward to recording that "debutalbum" again and my plan is to get it out on the market on way or another. I signed a management deal for Japan with the Accura corporation in March this year and the future is brighter. That's where I am right now and the record's gonna be great. That's alot. Jonna x.
