We are a straight-up rock and roll band with heart, passion, friendship and good music. With meaningful lyrics and catchy hooks we will grab your attention and not let go until we have had our way with you.
he walloping sound of CHETT, unleashed by four young men from Rockford, Illinois, whose intensity and grit have garnered them comparisons ranging from The Violent Femmes and Sonic Youth to Pearl Jam and the Foo Fighters, started officially in the fall of 2002 in the basement of singer/guitarist Luke LeFevre’s home in Elgin, Illinois. Since then the four members, Luke on vocals and guitar, Chris on guitar, Shawn on bass and Jason on Drums, have created a sound that is all their own. With the release of CHETT’s first 3 song demo in early 2003, simply titled CHETT, the band was able to get out of the basement and into clubs throughout the Midwest. With constant playing and practice CHETT has evolved into one of the most exciting bands in the area. CHETT mixes an entertaining live show with music and lyrics touching on subject matter ranging form the darker side of love and intense spirituality to their distaste with the current music climate. In early 2004 CHETT went back into the studio and recorded their first full length record, entitled Weary Path, which will be released in May 2004. With Weary Path CHETT has taken the energy of their live shows and inspirations of their music and created an intensely personal record with themes if hope, loss, love and of looking for something more meaningful in a world that seems as if it has lost its way. The members of CHETT all have high hopes for the upcoming year, but most of all they are just happy to be able to do something they love to do, and hopes the audience can find that same joy in their music and spread it to more people every time they play…so then they can take over the world.
