Charles Lewis Jr. aka “Sea” Bio
Charles Lewis Jr. was born in Chattanooga, TN and became exposed to music at a very young age.
He knew he wanted to become an entertainer at the age of 13 after performing “Come Over” by Four by Four in his first talent show.
Charles began performing in a variety of groups to help craft his musical talents. He performed in local groups such as Main Attraction now known as Reel Tight (under Warren G’s record label), A Touch of Class (former member such as Usher Raymond), Touch and Deliver (a gospel group), Melele Roots (a Reggae group), Brainerd High School Chorus and Chattanooga State Gospel Choir.
Inspired by his musical surroundings, Charles later started his own R&B; group called Melange in 1998 to express his writing, producing and vocal talents in the community.
“Sea” his stage persona represents his emotional and musical state, which is calm with the ability of getting rough.
His style includes a unique mixture of R&B; blended with a touch of new age elements.
Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight, Donnie Hathaway and some of the great boy groups of the 1980’s like New Edition, Troupe and Ready for the World influenced him vocally. While Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Baby Face, R. Kelly, PM Dawn and Rodney Jerkins influence him musically and lyrically. Sea credits his new age influences to artists like Loreena McKennitt, Enigma and Vas.
Entertainers such as Usher, Sisqo’, Ginuwine, Michael Jackson and Babtunde Olantuni have also influenced his style.
“Sea” wants to create memorable melodies with a new millennium twist. He wants to bring back the spirit of the late R&B; artists because that era incorporated nice lyrics and melodies.
