Excellent heads up Nicci.

I renewed mine last year, so I'm ok for nine years or so. No way those slime are getting their grubby mits on my biometric data!!! I'd rather go without a passport and never travel abroad again than submit to such nonsense....let alone actually have one of these dastardly cards.

             MASSIVE PROPS NICCI

COMPULSARY ID CARDS ARE A STEPPING STONE TOWARD VERICHIP!

I know this sounds a little far out but "they" are trying to introduce verichip
which is a microchip that goes under the skin its can be used to track you by satelite ,unlock doors ,as identification, monitor the heart rate, and many other big brother activites.

remember say no to the chip...and ID cards!!!!

peace... keep the rebelion alive

ps check out my tracks

Yes, I've known about Verichip for some time now, and your line of reasoning has been playing through my own mind as well. They've gone further however...much further than we might imagine and are now genuinely experimenting with a method of inducing drugs via slow release method directly into the bloodstream via an adaptation of the chip. It sonds like science fiction, but the technology is there, if not quite ready to mass market, it's being tested, and it's real.

The 'benefits' are championed as being entirely benficial within a medical sense, patients who require insulin for example, or have other mental or physical conditions which require timed dosage at regular intervals can now have these administered via the chip in an automatic, hassle free manner.

...But of course if 'chipping' is made compulsory (as it surely will be in the future) what are going to be the likely results? Our worst nightmares revealed? Individuals 'stealth drugged'? fed pacifying dosages of tranquilising drugs in order to keep them meek, servile and unquestioning?

The possibilities of genuine, physical mind control are closer than ever before.

ahhhhhhhh, good thing I am a foreigner then, ah?

no such luck, it is an EU thing, the Greek Goverment gave until June to get the new passports and ID cards.. so either I get one or I won't be able to travel to/from UK

I am the first to go down, it seems..

Glad that this has been bumped.

We're going to have to fight against these damned cards somehow, I'm not having it, and I'm not happy

The trouble is, that so many individuals are just likely to grumble and complain amongst themselves for a bit, and then just meekly comply. It's always the case with evil and controversial new government measures...it happened with the poll tax.
