FREE "Fat Chick Dance" Ringtone - Get it Here
Greenie's hot track now as a hilarious 30 second ringtone & it's FREE. Enjoy!

Greenie was born Matthew Greenberg in San Francisco on May 23, 1980. Like his voice, Greenie’s roots, which include a Puerto Rican mother and a Jewish father, are unique. He grew up in Marin County, California until his freshman year of high school sent him afar. At the age of 14, after getting kicked out of several local schools for his troubling and hyper behavior, Greenie was sent to Puerto Rico to spend time with his uncle (a former US Army Officer and Federal Judge).

The intent was to instill discipline and put him on the right path. He went to a private school on the island and picked up the Spanish language after one year. Despite the tough and violent tactics his uncle used to keep him in check, Greenie again was kicked off the island after stealing a car and crashing it while only 15 years old. This sent him to Provo, Utah where he spent the rest of his high school years at a lockdown school for troubled youth.

After being released from this program, Greenie moved to San Diego and went to community college for two years before enrolling at San Diego State University. While living in southern California, Greenie recorded several demos and began performing at local clubs and fraternities. Growing up, Greenie listened to artists like Tupac, A Tribe Called Quest, Funkdoobiest and most recently has been inspired by reggae artist Matisyahu. In 2003, Greenie graduated from San Diego State with a degree in Psychology. After graduation, he began writing and collaborating for the album “Big Bomb” which was produced and recorded in Marin County.
