Raul Marco aka D'MarKo was born on 15 December 1976 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His interest for music started very early, at the age of twelve already played the guitar and started DJing small activities playing New Wave, & Techno. When he became twenty it became very serious. In 1998 he became interested in electronic music, going to local clubs like The Warehouse and Asylum where he listened to great local talents like K-oba, Gulembo, Dj Vik, Santos, and break beat master, Dj Hugh. He loved it so much that he began building a new collection of records mostly Trance, House, Progressive and Break Beats. He visited Redz muzik a store from another local giant, Dj Red. At one of his visits to The Gallery Café, Raul met X-Man and Christopher Brown, better known as Shaggy. They opened him the doors to his act and taught him a lot about playing live. After that he started playing regularly at The Gallery and then he continued playing at The Blue Room. He became more interested in Trance, listening to international Dj’s like Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Paul Oakenfold, & Tiesto among others and also progressive artists like Sasha & John Digweed. During 2000 he played where he could, making private parties and activities like fashion shows mostly with the help of his best friend and dj/producer ZenThai (Gilbert Patruco). On 2001 he made a couple of appearances at Club Lazer and Don Pablo with help of his friends Hugh, Lory a.k.a. Lady Liquid and Shaggy, playing as many times as he could. He also played every Friday at Trance Missions @ the Blue Room with fellow friend and mentor Dj K-oba. During this year D’Marko started producing and remixing mostly for activities such as fashion shows. He made appearances at Orbit Sessions I & II @ Enlaces Café, Old San Juan opening for Gilbert Patruco, featured in Noctambulo.com. He also had the opportunity to be interviewed live by DJ Victor at 107.7 FM Fusion Electronica promoting one of his DJ Mixes. On 2002 he produced the music for the launch of Nissan’s new car, the Murano held at the Caribe Hilton San Juan, Puerto Rico. Also he played every Friday and Saturday at “Baires” at Old San Juan. This same year ZenThai & D'Marko closed for Valerie the Vibe Goddess, an activity held at Club “O”. At the same time got involved even more in producing progressive trance tracks. Producing and playing shows like Academia del Perpetuo Socorro Fashion Show 2003 held at Condado Plaza Hotel on September 2002. This year he played every Friday for three months at Café Del Angel with fellow musician Dj Shaggy. Thanks to his friend Dj Ender, D’Marko played a couple of times at Spy Bar located in Condado. Also this same year DJ Victor played mixes of D’Marko at 107.7 FM Fusion Electronica. Now in present times he spends most of his time producing tracks experimenting with trance, progressive house and break beats with friend ZenThai using programs like Reason 2.5 , Sound Forge 6 and Cubase SX. Since then he has made tracks like Revelation, Steel Monkey, Deep Planet, FarStar by his pseudonym Pyro, 1st co-produced by ZenThai, as ZeMai(ZenThai & D'Marko) and a remix of Dj Shadow’s Blood on the motorway. Joining Audible Illusions Records has helped him a lot in his development as a musician. In the near future D’Marko wishes to make more collaborations with ZenThai.
