No Arkansas band has received the attention that FURTHER DOWN has enjoyed over the past year. They have allowed their original music and the excitement of their live shows speak for the truth while also courting the largest fan base of any young rock band in Arkansas. FURTHER DOWN formed in 1999 with the local release of their first CD and over the past couple of years they have adjusted their line up by adding additional vocals as well as the bass lines of Dustin “Red” Dorton and the guitar work of Josh Copeland. The additions have formed the right mix to compliment the solid lead vocals of Micheal Collins and the melodies of guitarist Robby Rigsbee. Over the past couple of months, FURTHER DOWN has added drummer Aaron Hampton to the line up and a new management team that has pushed the band to a new level of success while allowing them to maintain their distinctive FURTHER DOWN sound, which is consistent with their 2003 release, “the Chloe sessions”.
FURTHER DOWN has shared billing with such great artists as SEETHER, KING’X, TANTRIC, TRAPT, SALIVA, DROWNING POOL, BLUE OYSTER CULT, OUR LADY PEACE, CLUTCH, POISON, STROKE 9, DUST FOR LIFE, THE GOURDS, APRIL WINE, TOMMY LEE, MAN MADE GOD, DIE TRYING, WARRANT, SOUTHERN ROCK ALLSTARS, VINCE NEAL OF MOTLEY CRUE AND TH' LEGENDARY SHACK*SHAKERS. They have played hundreds of live shows that include local venues such as The New Daisy, Hard Rock Café, Overton Park Shell and Mud Island (Memphis TN); ASU Convocation Center, U of A Independence Hall, Clear Channel’s 4th In The Forest and Rockin’ on the Ridge (Jonesboro AR) as well as Juanita's, West End Smokehouse, Clear Channel Metroplex and the Riverfest Amphitheatre (Little Rock AR).
FURTHER DOWN is presently recording their new material at Ardent Studios in Memphis under the direction of Producer Pete Matthews. Mr. Matthews is considered by many in the music industry as one of the premiere rock and roll producers in the country. He is also credited with discovering and developing Arkansas’ multi platinum group EVANESCENCE.
