Crucible collectively has a goal. That goal is to “revive and reform” the hard rock/metal movement. It seems that these days, the genre has been flooded with either rock music that is uninteresting and overwhelmingly common, or some concocted fusion of metal and rap. Almost no one would recognize a two-part guitar harmony anymore. What happened to “true metal?” Well, it exists in Crucible. True vocals (not screams or growls), strong riffs, powerful drums and head-spinning lead guitar solos are staples in (most of) Crucible’s original music. Crucible was formed in Clemson, SC in early 2004 by founding members Mike Spacil and Mike Pitt (whom I will call “Pitt” for simplicity’s sake). Mike played rhythm guitar, and Pitt played lead; so they needed a drummer and a bassist. The drummer position was filled immediately by Russell Brown, a long-time friend of Mike, and the bassist position was originally filled by Scott Nalley. However, after some creative differences, he was replaced by Robbie Edwards. A phenomenal bass player, he brought Crucible to another level as a group. Song writing became easier, and the songs improved dramatically. Crucible has found a groove in which it feels comfortable, musically. The hard driving riffs and straight forward and structured arrangements make for a memorable performance and head pounding beats. The “old school” style offers a classic feel to the older audiences and a new feel to the younger ones. The music will capture you. The choruses will have you singing along. The live show will inspire you, and you may find yourself with one of our melodies stuck in your head. We are the real deal - no fluff, just rock. ----------------------- These tracks are pulled from Crucible's first demo CD, which was recorded, mixed and mastered by Doug Mullinax at Crystal Rain Studio in Traveler's Rest, SC.
