I, being a new member, have a question: The introduction to this site clearly states that you must be owner of the copyright to post a song, yet in just a short time I've come across covers of Neil Young, the Beatles, and others..can you or can you not post covers? I'm not complaining, I have a JJ Cale song I'd love to put up if it's permitted... also, I've noticed that the "blues" section has some very confused people who think their hip-hop or electronica are blues tunes..I found only maybe 1 in 10 songs are actually blues..Great site though, I've downloaded some songs that are far superior to my commercial record collection..ther are some people on here that are absolutely world class..I'm SO jealous...

Welcome aboard Mr Riff ... I think the rule is that if you upload a cover you have to have official permission from the artist / publisher, and state this in the song notes, e.g.:

Not my cover, it's Strange Cloud's, I was just using it as an example ... but yes it is an excellent version.

covers should be properly licensed to be put up on the site, the Strangecloud one is a perfect example.

Please, please, don't inundate the site with covers of Kylie Minogue songs folks, my ears are tres sensitive

Did I say glare? I meant stare.  I just looked it up and indeed it is a bit harsh.  Stare and slobber is what I do.  No glaring.

I've done a re-shaped, semi-cover of David Essex's 'Hey Kid Rock and Roll'...that changes all the original words into something much more gritty about the situation in Iraq, added a sharp groove, and a loose bass guitar, along with African horns, sax and sweeping pads...followed by thrash guitar.. That description sounds great rofl!! but I cannot upload it here because of the licensing issues, even though I've changed all the words but the 'hey kid' bit

It's on the forthcoming Delivery System album however
