Aha...Art....a subject close to my own heart.
"What do I see"...?
Black....my favourite colour.....Perfection??...An irony....in that there is no such colour.... ..... maybe no such thing as perfection either??
A blank canvas?? .....maybe the shadow of your mind....awaiting a blemish of some kind, for Perfection is a Goal......it should never be achieved....only strived for......... 55

The home page is lookng good, very unusual and nicely minimal.
Black is certainly the new grey isn't it?
But at the end of the day, there is no substitute for lurid pink and
violet, and as a result I've designed the cover for my new album in a
fetching array of hideous colours. I'll include a screen shot when it's
completely finished.

reference to 'phi' and the divine proportion on a simple black
background. Either you're being clever and indicating universal
simplicity...or you're being clever and taking the 'mickey' out of your
visitors...or you're being clever and I cannot be clever enough to
figure out what you're indicating...lol ;o)

In my opinion
Its just a blank canvas where the seer can picture anything they want; a mental image infact and no matter how many times you look at it the mental image will be different.
The blank is just the back drop for you too fill in the gaps per-say. Its said that the mind never stops thinking or imaging things so what ever you are thinking at the time of looking at the black canvas you are surely going to to see something.
"If you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."

Brutally honest? I've listened to some of your music and I think it's fantastic. The web page comes across to me as kinda pretentious and of a sort of "web art" that I've seen millions of times. It doesn't represent the depth and inventiveness of your music, and if I was browsing the web and came across the page it wouldn't arouse enough curiosity in me to take the time to download and listen to a track, which would be a shame.
I like the style of your signature banner a lot more...
Anyway that's just a knee-jerk reaction from someone tends towards cynicism and likes instant gratification... I didn't get the phi reference, well spotted Youth!

I think your'e right Youth...Universal Simplicity sounds good.....the Phi pattern on a black background......it has no colour??......A pattern that is'nt a pattern in a Chintzy sort of way.... ..if you know what i mean?
Anyway....THE just likes to tease us all .... best thing is just to tease him back.

I think the answer is 55. The question is: What is the question?

Was that because I put 55 at the end of my first post?
55 would be the next number in the Fibonacci sequence.
Phi or Golden Rule/Section....whatever, has been used to explain many things from the Pyramids to The Last Supper.....It is not an entirely 'Perfect' rule as If I remember correctly, there is one small blemish in it......I have no idea about the Math......my only interest in it was due to the fact that many artists use the Golden Rule to plan the proportion in their paintings.
Like many mathematical theories, it has also been used to create music.
I am guessing that is why T.H.E has used the relationship between Art & Music to pose his Non-Question

I only noticed it because of the cover pic I've done for my own
collaboration page
HERE
...definitely wouldn't have given it a second glimpse otherwise....but
from what I read briefly, mathematically the sequence amounts to
1.618...

more importantly Da Vinci used it in many of his paintings
(particularly his vitruvian man) and nature displays it in innumerable
corners including our own bodies...THE is definitely teasing us...lol
