I have never been the type of person to have loads of cool dreams whether it be flying in space, hot girls or just something plain fun and silly. The last few weeks though have been beyond a joke.

Nightmares pretty much everynight or two. THey vary as well, never about the same thing. There is nothing particularly bad going on in my personal life so i don't get my mind. All i know is i am getting tired of waking up feeling anxious, afraid, uncertain or sometimes terriffied like i did briefly this morning.

My mind sucks, i need a new one

Lay off the late night cheese on toast man.

You are quite clearly anxious about something, maybe its something real enough but you've convinced yourself in the waking world that its no big deal. Do you owe on the council tax or got someone up the duff?

Years ago I used to have this recurring dream every now and again that I'd actually killed somebody, and I'd wake up feeling like I had and what the hell was I going to do. Sheer panic! More times I had the dream the more effect it had. Strangely enough it stopped happening after I'd hooked up with a new relationship... guess Freud would have a ball there.

I've killed two things as far as I know, a tadpole when I was 9 because I was an evil sh*tebag then and a badger I ran over four years ago. And it still bugs me to this day

There are no real big things going on in my life that should be making me anxious, or at least nuthin i am not very accustomed to by this point. Like avoiding council tax and any kind of employment.

Since i can remeber i have been having bad dreams. I recall as a young boy i would wake up terrified after dreaming the bomb had been dropped. I still get that one actually.

If you smoke cigarettes, try nicotine patches while you sleep, they really take the edge off nightmares.  Or try some herbal nytol.

If its worse than that, go see a doctor or try some sort of lifestyle change.

I used to have loads of bad dreams, but I've defeated them all one way or another.  Now I barely have time to dream, I just pass out then drag myself up for work the next day.

I heard nico patches at night give you horrible nightmares?

Anyway, it doesn't have to be anything to do with other things going on in your life, it could just be that you've realised something about yourself your not willing to admit, or you've noticed a change in yourself. Could be something as simple as that. Is there a particular colour, theme or any specific people?

Or, if you want to get deep we could always talk about spirtualism (non-religiously) and OOBE's?
Cheers,

nicotine patches gave me the most vivid and frightening nightmares, so perhaps different people have different reactions to those.

There are no real major colour themes, more of a lighting deal. It's usually lit like its late evening time(in Glasgow, kind of late evening)

I'd try a dietary adjustment, mate. It's a fact that the brain's functions are all controlled by various chemicals, on the off-chance that something in your diet could be affecting you, it might be worthwhile to try laying off red meat, stimulants (tea/coffee),chocolate....just plenty of fruit and veg (might need to avoid wheat too, though!)... give it a try for 2 or 3 weeks, if it works, you can slowly re-introduce your usual foods until you identify what triggers your nightmares. (for me, venison brings about the most horrible nightmares, if i lay off red meat I sleep like a baby).

and for godssake don't take DrRicky's prescription
