Hi everyone. I just, literally, got done composing my newest song, Serenity. I think it marks a transition in my skill level...especially with creating a coherent piece that flows, with well orchestrated strings; pizzicato, legato, and marcato. Below is the description from my page with a little more insight into the song.
The song starts off slow and peaceful, but builds up to epic proportions! "Almost all movie scores have several themes that consistently run throughout the film. For this piece, Serenity, I wanted to create a similar feel with a couple prominent themes throughout the composition. It starts off with an Asian feel, perhaps part that could accompany a fly through of Asian misty hills from a bird's eye view. The theme then gets repeated in a much more dramatic fashion, perhaps preparations for something that wants to challenge the serenity of the countryside. Things get very dramatic and it almost seems like things are going to get out of control near the three minute mark. The marcato strings ascend the scale into an epic climax. But, all of a sudden the serenity reappears with the violin and glockenspiel. Things transition into an epic march with a victory melody on strings and French horn. Then alas, the piece comes to a dramatic finish. Please let me know what you think!" http://www.mp3unsigned.com/Showband.asp?id=7230 Any comments, ratings, nominations, and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
