Ok, I'll confess, I am not a huge fan of certain genres/styles of music, nobody can like every style.

Now I was sitting the other day with my headphones on, working on something, and listened to the radio streams, from sheer laziness that I couldn't be bothered to pick and choose, and the machine I was on didn't have my 'usual suspects' tracks on it.

I had a most entertaining time of it, especially with the 'metal mania' stream. While I'm not about to rush out and buy tons of black tshirts and start making that funny hand gesture, I'll definitely be listening to more metal now.

So there, try something different, it worked for me

the message is good though and I understand where you are coming from... I say never shut anything out and always give anything a chance or 2. Tastes evolve and mature in many people so you never know what may strike your fancy.

yep, i agree. you should never have these prejudices about certain genres, there is quality and crap in ANY genre. i always thought musicals and opera were horrible, but now i love them. the same goes for the band metallica- i refused to listen to them simply because they look so horrible and do this crazy pantomime, but then i found what talented songwriters/singers/musicians they are. AND may i add: what i notice on this site sometimes is that people have prejudices against commercial music. I think the same rule applies to that: If something is in the charts and sells tons of records I don't think this necessarily means it is useless trash, there is also quality stuff that sells...amongst the awful trash.

He was rather good in that film the other night about the Great Train Robbery. He played a short, cocky, balding twerp with no stage presence, personality or talent. Remarkable acting.
