Since the New Year, the site has had it's ups and downs. Things like Mary no longer being around, vote sniping, hackers, spamming idiots etc had taken their toll on me.

Fortunately, the people who use this site generally have a good and supportive attitude. The fact that a music site where few people have ever met one another can raise $500 for a charity , as a celebration of the life of an online friend, speaks volumes to me as to the heart that the community here has.

I would like, again (boring boring, when's the stripper come on) to give out a few thank yous. (if you are not on the list, please don't get upset, there are so many folk)

• Virus,  Mr good ideas
• Valerie Willoughby, Ms good ideas and Ms alternative perspective.
• Steve Gilmore, he just kinda hangs about and writes reviews :)
• Mancini , another Mr Good Ideas, and mr commenter of the century
• Acrosoma, my pal, and has supported me magnificently
• Pruneau, always encouraging
• Tacx , hyper hyper, no time to stop and think :)
• Electric Salmon, quiet and effective
• Ffabbia, my entertainment, mr off camber
• The Higher Earth, say no more :)
• Greybrow, Sherlock Holmes (he knows what it means)
• Rainy D , should that not be Ms Happy Happy Happy
• etc etc etc

If you are not on the list, it is not because I don't appreciate you, I just realised that the list would include more than 1/2 the people who use the site

To be serious for a moment, all pales into insignificance, next to the tragedy of Mary. I still hurt like hell over it when I actually take time to stop and think, and still catch myself reading the odd comment and thinking "Ha! Wonder what Mary would say to that?".

But grieving is part of the healing process, and absolutely necessary. At least we have managed to stay whole and keep the community alive into the future.

...The other stuff, sniping etc. has all be dealt with in a most satisfactory manner, and things are looking decidedly rosy on that score. We've also managed to avoid one or two other problems, some minor, one or two potentially lethal! You all remember what they were, so I won't name them....but one of them was solved as a result of the generousity of many on here. Much love to you all!

So second toast is *to us all, and happier times ahead*
