Lot's of review requests have been made but gone unnoticed/unreplied because the reviews forum had always been for 'reviews offered'. I just moved a bunch of review requests to here to get this new part of the forum up and running.
This section here should help to separate the requests from the offers and hopefully will reboot this element of the forums.
Any questions or suggestions about this section please reply to this thread.
Thanks,
A

Mixposure has new review options to choose per upload:

Constructive Review: The Artist has requested Constructive Feedback on this song. Please let the artist know what works, what does not work and what are the pro's and cons of the song.

Critical Review: The artist has requested Critical Feedback on this song. The Artists is looking for details of what you like and do not like on the song. Do you hear mistakes? How is the mix? The artist wants no punches pulled and would like honest direct feedback.

I don't know what plans you had for reviews but you might think about that as well.

I would have thought a constructive review would also be critical? If I ask for a critical review then I can imagine people thinking up negative stuff that they may not have originally though of (not difficult when listening to guitar wankery!). Constructive to me would be "this sounds crap becuase ABC is wrong but if you do XYZ it will sound better". Maybe it's just me!?

Nobody thinks the same way so (virtually) any comments are probably relevant and valid i.e. if the reviewer doesn't like something they should say it and if the artist disagrees then too bad.

On the other hand, i tend to think that anyone reviewing a track (or even critisizing in comments) should have a basic understanding and appreciation of tracks in that genre.

I agree, I would never do a review on a techno track because I know nothing about the genre and the production techniques etc. If I like a track I'll leave comments instead - personally I've always kept reviews to what I know - guitars 'n stuff
