Should we keep the Chatbox?

Hey guys, besides running this poll to get your opinions I am also running an experiment to port data out of this thread into a new module I'm testing. If you get a chance please vote on the above poll, there has been some discussion lately about whether the chatbox has hurt the number of thread posts in the forum. Feel free to discuss the poll or the chatbox etc in this thread.

I thought about it at the top too just to get more ppl to socialize but it's kinda big and would be as much of a pain to scroll down to get to the forums as it would to scroll down to get to the chatbox LOL.

Well, if it's too big then revise it.. I still like the convenience of chat boxes on the top.. But, that's just me..

I personally preferred the separate chatroom. I do feel that the chatbox has a negative effect on thread posting. I've certainly noticed people using the chatbox to get help and such like and not putting a thread up for other input. For example, I did it today without even realising it regarding the site being down.

Just a personal preference. Although I admit to using the chatbox, I would genuinely prefer a chatroom. I think the chatbox makes the forum menu a bit untidy looking.
