Sean...thanks so much for your comment....I think that it is because we Brits don't have so many of these monstrous events that it stays with us for longer and takes root. Even after 27 years, if you ask anyone who was around at that time, they'd know Nicola and Karen's names as if it was yesterday.

That is NOT to say, their murders were in any way more horrendous than the child murders in other countries....every child taken by violence is an irremovable stain on humanity....but the fact that you and I and millions of others are moved by it still, proves that humanity is not itself dead. YET!
