Hope this is in the right place, thought I'd share though.
Don't know how many have come to use BeastDigital.com over the years, but it was a great site for unsigned artists' and new unknown labels (not the big companies) to sell your music.
Tonight, after a lot of searching the internet as to why their website wouldn't load; and their uploads server had become un-responsive, I found this blog from a different company ('Symphonic Distribution'):
Quote:
Today, we received an official notice from BeatsDigital with unfortunate news that they are shutting down. The official notice is below. This was sent from them to all of their label partners and artists. As a result of this notice, effective immediately, the retailer brand has been taken off the Content Portal so uploads from labels and artists affiliated with Symphonic Distribution will not be delivered. Often times these things happen and it is unfortunate however, on our end, we will continue to work hard, seek new relationships and attempt to assist retailers as much as possible in hopes that no other retailer will falter in this new and exciting free enterprise.

Dear Sir/Madam,
It is with great sadness that I have to announce that BeatsDigital officially ceased trading on Friday 18th February 2011. The directors have worked hard over the past few months to save the company, but sadly we have been left with no option but to cease trading.
The board has ordered that a Statement of Affairs be prepared but I regret to have to tell you that it is unlikely that there will be sufficient funds to wind up the affairs of the company and to settle outstanding debts. We will inform you of the financial position in due course. We would like to thank you for your support and business over the past few years, and wish you all well in the future.

I started out at BD a few years ago as an unsigned artist, moving onto a label, after leaving Soundclick.com (due to having to constantly pay to have their adverts removed from my profile page, adverts that my firewall said were a 'known threat'!!). So, it's safe to say I was a tad miffed to find tonight that BD is no more; and even more miffed that I wasn't notified at all of the company's demise.
Like I said, thought I should let people know in case they have any accounts (or did have) on the BD server.
Dave.
