Get in contact with local radio stations, as they may be interested in featuring a local artist. I know they do something like that where I'm at. Who knows, may be worth a phone call/email, and good luck.

If you can do it live, busking is good, and fun too. Also, open mic nights. Preferably not int the sticks where I live!
