Mastering pisses me off!

But I'm starting to get the hang of it, FL users got any tips??

You can get loads of free plugins Hydro. For decent mastering, you really need an eq (I use a 31 channel stereo eq), a good compressor, and a limiter. I also use a stereo widener and a spectrum analyzer so that I can see the frequencies as well as hear them.
Master in at least two, but prefereably three sets of speakers and phones.

A few recommendations from me though,

Kjaerhus classic 7 Band EQ - Not precise like a parametric EQ but gives nice colour to the sound.
KarmaFX 31 band graphic equalizer - Again good EQ, more precise that previous but not exact.
MeldaProductions MEqualizer - Very Precise 6 Band EQ.

Don't forget Ozone 4 for mastering... I haven't really used it myself but if I was looking for something to solve my mastering headaches then this would get 1st prize I think.. I don't usually put anything on the master but apparently this is designed to enhance and polish even the tightest of mixes, as long as you give it a bit of headroom.

Killer, thanks guys I've got some d/l to do, not right now cuz I'm on shitty dial up, but here's the biggest question I've ever asked (lol probly not), how the fk do you master vocals into a track, it's killin me, I would love to hear my vocals mastered fully for once, maybe not fully but ateast to a minimum standard you know?
