Dead

Yup. It's dead out there. Think I'ma hop on over to Looperman.. I do like the higher quality uploads to here and up to 100 tracks, but.. Time for me to roll on somewhere else.. Thanks everyone for the comments and feedback for all my current tracks. I'll pop in every now and then, but I'm switching my primary place on the web to Looperman, SoundCloud, and my own site. Wish everyone the best..

After some thought, I've made a decision and at this point, I don't care if it's "deja vu" or not. My decision is final. Here is what I have posted on my music profile.. Maybe people here will understand, maybe they will disagree. I'm not asking for anyone's approval, I'm stating a belief, following my heart. I'm tired and worn out and something has to change, and I believe the following is what needs to be done.

Thank you all for your comments and critiques (on my tracks). Due to recent events I have decided that social networking only causes more harm than good. So I am cutting ties with ALL social networking websites except for Facebook as there is family there that I keep in contact with, however, I may end up leaving there as well later down the road. This generation we live in talks via an electronic device, no one likes to talk over the phone or face to face anymore. People are rude and disrespectful online, and most of the time they'd never dream of acting this way face to face. The world today relies way too heavily on technology and I am tired of dealing with those who have no respect for others, those who don't care about who they are rude to or how what is said may affect others. I believe it's time I pull myself away from it all and focus on what matters the most. Building character with others FACE TO FACE. Again, thank you all for following my music journey, it's been a good ride and I will continue to emphasize my emotions through music. Just not on a social level anymore.

While I do wish Adam all the best on the new social media sites he has chosen, I would like to note, in passing, my observation that any site is defined (given shape/direction and texture/tone) by the kinds and levels of engagement of the members and adherents. "Dead," then, seems to be a reflection inward, as well as a perception of the outward. "Dead is as dead gives," is most often the case, I think.

Perhaps another way of looking at things is to take Gandhi's adage: "Be the change you wish to see."

Or perhaps this one: Start where you are.

I'm not sure that "grass is always greener (elsewhere)" approach ever worked that well.

No idea how but I posted the same reply twice. Whilst I would argue that the quality of the people and the music remains as good as ever I have experienced some strange happenings that I can only conclude are due to the code not being tablet optimised.

Didn't a great song once say 'you can check out, but you can never leave'. You will be back and made welcome when that days comes. What Ive learnt since joining this site cannot be measured in active members or thread counts its deeper than any unit of measure could count. I recall previous threads where members lamented over loss of this member or that one and as newbie I felt outside of things and had no contribution to make. But know many of those members have joined the list of 'where are they now' but who cares for fresh meat is delivered and life goes on.
Returning after a break myself I'm delighted to listen to some of the best music this site has ever offered and good people as well.
