Default Properties of Paint Thinner Solvents

A paint thinner solvent is used to thin oil based paints or clean them up after usage. Mineral spirit is the most common variety of paint thinner solvent compounds. White spirit, acetone, true turpentine and naphtha are common examples of paint thinner solvent products. It is dangerous to expose an individual to paint thinner solvent while using them. Ethyl benzene, xylene and butyl acetate are used in the production of paint thinners and their derivative chemicals. Denatured alcohol is sometimes used as a paint thinner chemical agent for industrial usages. It is highly suitable for shellac products, coatings, stoves, and metals. It is to be noted that denatured alcohol is the only paint thinner solvent that can be used for shellac products. Various chemicals are added in denatured alcohol and so it is not potable.
Chemical ethanol structure of denatured alcohol is the exact same of other carbon compounds. Muriatic acid is another liquid used for paint thinning and it is a strong and corrosive inorganic solution. Muriatic acid possesses the same chemical and physical properties of Hydrochloric Acid. Usages of muriatic acid as paint thinner include brick cleaning and metal cleaning. It will remove varnish, stains, grimes, fabrics, metals, plastics, and most types of paints effectively. You should wear protective clothing, rubber gloves and safety eye glasses while working with paint thinner solvent. Next step is to dilute thinner to desired strength by adding acid carefully to water container. After that you should start with a highly diluted combination of paint thinner and strengthen the solution.

Very interesting and informative read, thank you, I'll certainly be bookmarking this for future reference for use in all my various paint thinner solvent orientated activities.

Interesting to note that shellac products form such a high percentage of intended use. I honestly had no idea.
