Now I'm not one who particularly enjoys hip-hop music, but I don't try to avoid it either! I tend to enjoy hip-hop that has a bit of intelligence in it or even humour! I like hip-hop that doesn't really associate itself with the usual subjects associated with hip-hop! Atom Tha Immortal's "Snatch" is about the usual subjects, but has a certain amount of intelligence that I find rather appealing!

The lyrics, based on a movie, has a narrative vibe to it, and a good, almost believable story to boot! I'm not too fond of the chorus, as while it is relevant to the rest of he lyrics, tends to make the lyrics lose its originality and sparkle! But I'm sure others will disagree! Also, it does help to have the lyrics in front of you as you can't really follow along to them without some guidance! Only a minor niggle! The best asset of this track for me has to be the music! From the "beatbox" drumloop at the start to the low-key pad and whistley melody, the music fits the lyrics like a glove without being too intrusive! It might be simple in its nature, but it doesn't need to be complicated and it certainly isn't!

Overall, "Snatch" is what you would expect from a decent hip-hop track! Bumping music that has relevance, rapping that has more intelligence than what you usually hear from any kind of music, all wrapped up in crisp, but not too clean production! I say thumbs up! Pizza score: Pepperoni! A pretty common topping, but a popular choice that doesn't really need anything extravagent with it!
