more cool guitar work. Liked it a lot.
Excellent work Paul and such a professional sound. Nice big studio feel to this. Loved the solo break, lovely technique, phrasing and tone throughout. Reckon I'll pick up a copy of your cd:) An easy rate and nomination.
Like the palm mutes to start. Nice layers going with the bendy bits. Great use of the pinch harm, oh hell yeah, great Satch-esque run into an eastern vibe. Here comes the wah, a few sweeps. My cuppa totally! Track not over & you've already earned a rec, rate & nom! You are silky smooth dude! What a strong last :50! WELCOME!!! Can't wait to hear the rest!
Hi Paul. Good to see you here on Mp3unsigned having met you on Soundclick a year ago. This is a really great track, not only guitar playing wise but the whole musical arrangement and production is fantastic. Rated. Check ou the forums and join the Axe Slingers social group at the bottom of the page, it will be great to have a guitarist of your calibre with us. Craig
I'm a rock guitarist from Suffolk, England. I've played in rock bands all over the country but concentrate now on instrumental rock - there's elements on Satriani, Gilmour, Vai and others, but mostly it's me! For me, instrumental music is not just music without lyrics - the music should provide the words for you and should do one of three things - move you, take you on a journey or tell a story.... sometimes it can do all three!
I have just released my debut CD called 'Out Of The Ashes' . Yes, there's some shredding, but no, it's not just about speed, it's about music and melody. This is more along the lines of Eric Johnson meets Dave Gilmour than the traditional Satch/Vai/Malmsteen clones :) .....well, there's a bit of Satch/Vai/Malmsteen-isms, but there are too many people trying to sound like someone else - I've only ever tried to be me! The CD is available from my website at www.paul-oakley.com in both download and physical format. It's also available at www.cdbaby.com/cd/pauloakley
