I enjoyed seeing Matt perform several times in Nashville and Ashland City, Tn. in June. He delivers his music with feeling and expression, making one feel "right there" in the scenerio. It's a pleasure meeting this talented artist and gentleman! I am happy to follow his career and offer my support in his adventure.
ah i see ,these are just short samples of your work - sounds good though
Matt Snook was born and raised in a small Midwestern town in Missouri where he first began displaying his enthusiasm for music. He first showcased his raw vocal talent in a southern Baptist church at the age of three. Just a few years later, he opened up his first bank account with the prize money he earned from winning a talent competition at the local high school. “I was asleep when Mom carried me up to claim my trophy and I realized how important she was in our preparation the nights before and on the night of acceptance,” Snook remembers. “Show me success and I’ll show you many people that need congratulated.”
Snook’s Mom and Dad started driving him to area Country Music Theaters on Saturday nights. “It was a win-win. I got to sing, they were proud to listen and I loved the many undistracted conversations getting there.” “I also remember never being pushed, but always being supported,” says Snook in regards to early memories.
Snook has established himself as a local favorite around the Kansas City area by performing for great causes, judging on Harrah’s Lucky Break and making himself very approachable about his business. “Growing up and performing in churches, honky-tonks, country music theaters and restaurants….I learned to always think about long term business. I try not to get distracted by short term obstacles or rewards. If something makes sense for the long haul, then I think it is probably the right thing to do.”
Snook has moved his passion and family to Nashville, TN. Snook feels blessed to have experienced many opportunities since those earlier years and embraces the possibility of becoming a nationally recognized country music artist….or not! “I am not afraid to succeed or fail. I just feel ready. My family is ready.” And is quick to mention when asked if he is nervous of the tough road ahead, “Life stays simple when you follow these simple principles: do the right thing, do your best and show people you care.”
Recent opportunities to perform domestically and abroad with organizations like America’s Huey 091 Foundation, Troops First Foundation and Musicians On Call, only reinforces Snook’s passion to do the right things for the industry and the many fans that have helped it flourish. “It is hard to get a big head when you are performing for silent heroes that are facing serious life challenges, while your family is holding down the fort and sacrificing while you’re gone. Like life, this business can be a long, hard road with the many ups and downs. I am just going to live in the moment, be thankful for those supporting and embrace it!”
The Troops First Recording Project is almost done. Tracks are recorded, mixed and have been mastered. Finishing up on the album cover. Stay tuned to see where you can download "Hero's Hwy"! Thanks!
