Born and raised in Ashland, Kentucky, I've been playing music and writing songs since my early teens. That's me to the left---the thinning guy in front of the lilac bush. My early musical influences included the Eagles (one of my very first live performances was the Eagles' classic hit "Tequila Sunrise"), Waylon Jennings, Don Williams, Willie Nelson, Pure Prairie League, and anything by James Taylor. I've won many talent competitions as a singer/songwriter and played my way through four years of college on music scholarships in country crossover and bluegrass bands. My vocal style was once described as "Jim Croce meets Randy Travis." This made me raise one eyebrow and think..."Hmmmm..." Thanks for stopping by to take a listen!
