York City, UK is home to the band LYNCHPIN. They came together in March 2001. Their genre of music is fluid, continually evolving and developing as they mature as a band and individuals has threads emo/Rap/metal-core. Musical likes/influences include: Limp Bizkit, Deftones, RATM, Funk Doobiest, Cypress Hill, House of Pain, Lost Prophets, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Dream Theatre, Metallica, Korn, Adema and Ill Nino.
After six months of solid practice there first gig was at The Junction, “Home of Lynchpin”, in York, supporting a local band, to just a handful of people. The band then aged 14-15. Regular gigs since then now see LYNCHPIN play to a sell-out venue, a hot sweaty heaving pit of their loyal fans, 250+.
Lynchpin played at the first City of York Music and Arts Festival, Air 2003, held on the Knavesmire Racecourse, supporting Bad Manners, Huge, The Animals, Sevenball and many more. Lynchpin is booked to play the next YRock Festival in summer 2005.
Supporting bands like Funeral for a Friend, Number One Son, Fony, The Suffrajets and The Kills, Colour of Fire at their CD Launch “Pearl Necklace” has seen LYNCHPIN gig in Hull, Scarborough, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool-The Cavern, Carling Academy, Sheffield - Boardwalk, Bradford – The Rio, The Garage, London. Our next gig is supporting SIKTH at the BARFLY venue Fibbers in York on December 8th.
THE SECOND CHAPTER released in June 2004 received ‘live’ play coverage on BBC Radio Humberside/Yorkshire/Leeds, Raw Talent, on August 12th.
