HOLLYWOOD, CA – Helmer has signed on with A&R; Select and have announced the release of a new CD this summer (Title TBA). “When the new Helmer album hits the street it will be a revolution of the music world,” according to a spokesman for A&R; Select, the leading independent A&R; firm in Hollywood, CA. “We're indie, folky rock-and-roll,” according to Helmer. “Helmer writes music that appeals to rock fans but is rooted in the indie ethic and informed by a captivating folk flavor,” says A&R; Select. Helmer utilizes emotion rooted in personal relationships to write music the band says will strike a chord with audience members. “I write songs from my own experiences with relationships and/or things I see my friends go through.” For Helmer, this is songwriting that touches on common human experience and is thus open to being embraced by a wide fan base, according to A&R; Select. “I try to write songs,” says David of Helmer, “that deal with issues that every single person out there can relate to because they have gone through it or are going through what I am singing about.”
“And we are always writing music.” To boot, recording has recently finished and the new album will hit the streets this summer. Says Helmer, “We want people to feel and love our music at our shows, at home, at work, pretty much anywhere, as we do. We are just normal guys that play music. We deal with the exact same issues as everyone else; we just write songs about them.”
