Just finished up the work on this end with Randy's drums, and gave the mix my best effort.  Still awaiting Mike's lead, but would much appreciate any comments or suggestions on how this is sounding so far.

It's a bit like a track we did a while ago called falling in love, which I loved lol, but think this is an even better song, agree with what James says about raising the verse vocal, but the bass and guitar sound great (your best bass track by far by the way) Love the doubled chorus vocal, the melody. Like the structure, no flab on the track. Don't think it's far off mix wise to be honest. Drums need work as well possibly, I like Randy's fills and stuff, but the casio is getting on a bit now lol, I'm wondering if it is possible to sample Randy's bits, and sort of fashion them into a full drum track and some of the fills need to be timing fixed to fully match the guitar stabs on the fills. I may be able to help there depending on what elements you have kept from Randy and yourself. I am partial to your more punky stuff as you know and whatever happens I will rate the song when it fully published :)

Thanks guys!  Great tips, just what I was looking for.  I'll be tweaking this later today, and I think Randy wants another crack at punching up that outro.  Glad to see I'm on the right track with this as the song's gone through a major overhaul in the past week.

Remix now up, casio drums and lead vocal "lifted" (thanks, Andy) and centered (thanks, Ricky).  Also boosted the gain on the bass just a hair (glad you enjoyed that, Allan!) and got a bit stronger finale with Randy's drums.  Thanks for the offer to help cut and paste a drum track using strictly Randy's track, Allan, but the bass drum on the casio track "drives" this song and after multiple attempts we weren't able to record a full version with just Randy that captured that feel.  We'll certainly take your caution about excessive lead seriously, Ricky, I agree this doesn't need much and stands fairly well on it's own as is.  As it may be a week or more before Mike has a chance to hear this (major changes going on with him) I'm thinking of posting this to the new mp3 forum and try it out on the rest of the crowd here.
Once again, big thanks to Andy, Ricky and Allan for your advice, and thanks Vin and Dan for your support and encouragement.  You guys are great! Big%20smile

Sounds even better now, the vocals are much clearer now, funnily enough I like it even more than last night now, it's been stuck in my brain all day. Pressed all buttons this time. Agree with Ricky by the way, doesn't really need a big lead guitar in this particular case as you have kept the arrangement pretty spare with not much room for it anyway. Leave it as it is, sounds great :)
