Mispent Youth UK was born from the ashes of various punk/hardcore and metal bands around South Shields, near Newcastle, U.K. Two drunken mates from years back talked about setting up a band but it never went any further than drunken banter and soon got forgotten about after sobering up. After too many nights out, Steve and Danny actually decided to get off their back-sides and recruit Goldie as a second guitarist. In November 2003 things plodded along while practicing with a couple of lads from Sunderland but was soon brought to a halt due to differing music tastes and ideas about what direction the band was going in.
Back to square one. With Steve on bass, Danny on Guitar and Goldie on second, the search for another drummer and singer was on, which proved to be a big pain. Reluctantly Danny took on the drums and Steve began tackling the vocals as well as bass. Goldie was now the sole guitarist and the ball started rolling. “Three beer idiot friends with no idea what we were doing” was officially the beginning of the band in March 2004. November 2005 marked the arrival of Phil on second guitar.
