QuantuMagick was inspired by a close friend of mine. I was trying to tap into the unconscious realms of realistic archetypes while pairing the occult with science of Quantum Mechanics. The concept of the wave-particle phenomena is apparent in my band name title and in this song tile. Sometimes a atom or electron can be observed as having a wave-like behavior or a particle-like behavior, but we can observe only one property at a time. This paradox is known as Wave-Particle Duality. You can read this songs title as Quantum, the 'M" belonging to the work "Quantum," or you can perceived the word "Magick," the 'M" this time belonging to the second word "Magick". The 'M' is used to spell Quantum and Magick and thus illustrates the nature of the Wave-Particle Duality.

I started experimenting with a audio loop program called Fruity Loops a couple of years ago. I had experience playing in a rock band in South Georgia named Westminster Abbey. It was in this band that I learned how to play lead guitar and learn basic music theory. I came to Lexington, Kentucky to attend college at the University of Kentucky. I graduated with a Batchelor of Arts in Psychology. While I was an undergraduate I discovered a group called Negativland that was played routinely on the college radio station WRFL. I become interested in their media virus experiment and the technique that was coined by that group, Cultural Jamming. Through the use of commercial sound bytes they created a sound montage that turns the marketing devices of jingles and slogans into something entirely different. I became interested in this as more of an art form than a type of music. Implementing synchronistic and serendipitous creativity, I discovered that what I created was bigger than anything that I could willfully contemplate and devise. My projects would take on a life of their own and I would be driven night and day by a concept and until I was satisfied with the final cut. QuantuMagic, the name of this project which is totally written, edited, and composed by me, then came into being. It is named after the second complete song I attempted. The best experience is to listen with headphones because special care was taken create effects in stereo.
I hope you enjoy and your comments are welcome. Visit my website ZowieWowie.com for more information about QuantuMagick.
