Abra Cadaver began its terrorizing tirade across the area in early 2004, when four social misfits set out to form a group that would be much different from any other local band. Having been part of the scene for some time, they became bored with the many acts that constantly churned out the same generic type of music and mediocre live shows. They wanted to try something new, combining their love for industrial, synthpop, and disco with good ol' fashioned hair metal.
Enter Kevin Lyons, metal god extraordinaire. With bone crunching guitar tones and the ability to compose incredible music, Kevin would quickly become the heartbeat and violent mood swings of Abra Cadaver.

The formula for this sonic army came closer to completion with the addition of Mitty. After being behind the music scene for some time, she decided to rock out herself and take up bass. The experiment went full force with frontwoman and scream queen, Abby Helton. Like the rest of the horde, she had been in a couple of local bands that went bust and needed a project where she could spread her wings and truly show the world what lurked in the shadows. With a voice that ranges from sultry to downright cruel, she'll rip many a heart out and make her victims enjoy every second of it. Last but not least, is drummer Bill Adams. His solid percussion is the backbone of Abra Cadaver, not to mention he's able to put up with our neuroses on a weekly basis.
Abra Cadaver has played numerous shows, most notably at the White Ball in Lexington, Kentucky, the Underground Ecstasy Ball at Headliners in Louisville, Kentucky, and the Erotic Arts Ball in Indianapolis, Indiana. 2005 has been a successful year for the band. Their music is featured in the soundtrack of the film, "Zombie Planet 2" and had the fortune of winning WKQQ's 2005 Decent Exposure battle of the bands contest. Hopefully, 2006 will be even brighter and better! |
