Hoochie Coochie Men  (Blues)
Northwest Blues Dance Band

Phone Booth (Blues)

Artist Comments
Written and sang by Barney Southard, who came up with it while cleaning the glass in the phone booth that used to located near the front door of the Blues Bouquet. Barney lays down a fat, tom-tom driven Bo Diddley beat, Mike breaks out his slide guitar and duels with Phil and Bud and Ken add harmonies.

The Hoochie Coochie Men formed in the summer of 1993 in order to become the house band at Boise Idaho's now-defunct Blues Bouquet. Drummer-vocalist Barney Southard recruited ex-bandmate sax-flute-vocal guy Phil Garonzik and his high school classmate, keyboard-harmonica-vocal dude Ken Harris, to start the Blues Bouquet ... Idaho's first Blues nightclub. Together with the local talents of Bud Gudmundson and Mike Trail, the Hoochie Coochie Men made their public debut at a benefit concert for guitar-maker John Bolin the last Friday of August, 1993 ... and have been rockin' ever since. The Hoochies released a CD in the late '90s (on sale in the local music section at the Record Exchange, downtown Boise). Bud, Barney and Ken write original songs, and the entire band arranges the music. Crowd pleasing professional showmen.
