Hey,

Are there too many producers flooding the dance music industry now? It is very easy to create something that sounds quite proffesional with little effort. What are your views?...let me know.

i say yes, but it has helped the electronic scene becoming more popular with all these people getting into making their own music with all the different music making programs..so that i like about it

only rookies use others music, and they wont get far with it.  besides if you use a sample right, you can make it an entirly different tune.  youd be surprised of how few of prodigys tunes contain stuff liam wrote.  he uses butt loads of samples.  there is a site that cites them all. for example...the 3 killos is pretty much all samples.  they also have the clips on the site of the original tunes that were sampled.  another one that stood out was smack my b ups bass line to start the song.  liam is truly brilliant..

A big proportion of the music for the last fifty years has been created using session musicians, but it's all about how you put it together. Production is the key. It opens up doors for people who can't play instruments but have a talent and passion for music. Even some of the most prolific song writers have been known to use samples, take George Micheal for an example.Status Quo after all, made an entire career out of rearranging the same three chords!  So I'll think you'll find that this is nothing new. I take my hat off of course to those who can play an instrument, I am currently learning how to play the guitar and am aiming to make a track using only guitar and my own vocals.

I think there is too much music out there, full stop.  I wish everyone else would stop making such killer music and give me a chance to make a few quid.

There is a huge resurgance in the UK right now of new bands, as a backlash against electronic music and rightly so.  More often than not there are no live musicians on pop chart hits nowadays.

Dance music in particular has got very very cheap to make with software synths and engineering plugins compared to the old hardware days.  The result is that the market is saturated with masses of cheap or free dance music like never before.

To tell the bitter truth, I have only bought 2 dance CDs that I can recall in my life.  The vast majority are all free coverdisc CDs, or DJ mixes I downloaded.

I'd say there is little to no money in writing dance music.  It could almost be considered a free art form.

I don't just write stuff like my uploaded track on here.I'll add some more to give you an idea.
