Declared "The New Voice of Cleveland," by family and really close friends, 17 year old cleveland born and raised Jerome Singleton has what it takes to entertain and inspire his fellow Clevelanders, and everyone else across the world. With a powerful voice sometimes compared to a mix of Mario and John Legend, he and everyone around him believes he can be the next big thing since usher. The soulfulness of his voice will immediatly be loved by the older crowd, while his awareness of today's style will attract the younger audience. Besides having a wonderful voice, he can dance his ass off.
Even though he is good-looking, he doesn't want to be sex symbol just yet. " I don't wanna go that route yet. I wanna get to know my fans and they get to know me before I get all sexy on em. I don't wanna seem so desperate, like today's r&b.; But I do write sexy songs. For instance the song That's How You Like It, its a sexy song but its not too sexy, its based on a love I had in the past. I wanna sell records first, then sell sex later."
Born to a singing mother and raised around hip-hop and R&B; all his life, he has learned from the pros to polish his talents. His Influences include Keith Sweat, Micheal Jackson, the late Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Al Green, R. Kelly, and the O'Jay's.

As a little boy in elementary school, he was involved in the school choir, in which he was given the top soloist parts. Being involved in choir throughout his school career has been a great experience that has paid off for this 17 year old rising star. In 2003, he competed in the Boys and Girls Idol competition, their version of American Idol, and won third place. The following year at the same competition, he did win first place.
"Music is something that I really love, its been around me all my life, its a huge thing throughout my whole family and I don't know what i'll do without it."
Bernice, jerome's mom, first realized his potential during a trip to the grocery store. " We was on our way to Giant Eagle, and Brian Mcknight's One Last Cry came on the radio. He started to sing it and I broke into tears. Since then, I sent him to many friends of mine in the music biz with no luck, because of money problems.
" I used to tell him, don't get to happy, cause you might not get what you want. Everytime I tell him that, he would just pick up his pen and paper and would write material for the rest of the day."
He has always has a reputation, even in high school, of being conceited, which can be bad in the music biz. "I wouldn't call my self concieted, I just advertise myself perfectly. You have to be that way or people will walk all over you, and in the music biz, your fans and your music peers can be your best friends or your worst enemies."
With the talent, looks and attitude that Jerome has, we'll see his songs topping the charts and him winning many awards one day.
