21-year-old Gary Clark Jr will blow you away. Whether he's playing a solo gig (playing electric guitar, bass drum, pedal cymbals and harmonica (when he Isn't singing)) or playing with a drummer and bassist, this musician is pure talent. A self-taught guitarist, Gary speaks through his instrument. Whether it is Elizabeth Cotton's "Freight Train", Jimmy Reed's "Shame, Shame, Shame" or one of Gary's original songs, he draws you into his music and allows you to enjoy it with him.
Gary was honored by the City of Austin when, in 2001 it declared May 3rd to be "Gary Clark, Jr. Day". Gary was also voted "Best Blues Artist" in 2004 at the Austin Music Awards. This young man has a bright future and we invite you to get to know him and his music.
