A short clip of a funky little number. A lot of people are surprised by Robyn's ability to sing like a girl!

Yamaguchi Formed in the early months of 2003, and fusing vintage sounds with advanced electronic gadgetry, combined with a candid lyrical style, Yamaguchi was born. After various collaborations with other acts (and with various degrees of success), founder members Robyn Firth (a respected Sheffield-based producer) and Andrew Stentone (renowned drummer and “rhythm doctor”) decided to begin a new project. Frustrated with current musical trends, the culture of so-called “Reality T.V.”, and the lack of imagination found in current popular acts, they came up with a simple concept - to make music without boundaries. Drawing influences from acts such as the Human League, David Bowie, Eels, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, Duran Duran, Sparks, Bis, Blur, the Shamen, ELO, Beck, Sly and The Family Stone, Aerosmith, Elvis Costello and many others, they immediately began writing and recording in Robyn’s studio (Interstellar Sandwich Studio). Having received lots of local interest from an accidental airing of their first few tracks, they started searching for an all-important third member. Fast-forward several months and numerous auditions, Hannah Swayles was eased into the fold as guitarist . Hannah shared the same opinion of the popular music scene, and also had a similarly eclectic appreciation of music. Since that time, the band have continued to increase their fanbase on a national level. Whilst many bands seem content to play as many gigs as possible, stumbling on stage in jeans and t-shirts, remaining static throughout the set and then leaving their guitars to tediously feed-back in front of their amplifiers, Yamaguchi are very different. They decided instead to play a few select live performances, and concentrate on delivering a thoroughly exciting and energetic performance. After performing at several prestigious events including the DVD launch of Eve Wood's "Made In Sheffield" film, the band are writing and recording new material, and planning more live shows.
