Nearly missed this one :/ Lovely pristine guitar opening continuing with clear vocals and then bass kicking in. Real nice production. Mal.
Nice touch up an already awesome track my friend. You never give up on a song or mix. You have my utmost respect in that regard. But facts are facts and this song just plain KICKS A S S! Longing to return to a place somewhere psychical in the past? Or just a beautiful moment in time. Wow. Again Erik I want to thank you for your comments on my tracks. It really means a lot to me my friend. Keep on reaching for a work of absolute perfection. Best, Eric
This is just quality on all levels. Acoustic guitar work is top drawer. Gives Zeppelin a run for their money. TMR
Sounding good Erik.
Erik, this is just friggin OUTSTANDING!. Totally enjoyed....
You have absolutely nailed those guitars and the song sounds even more awesome. Can´t blame you for wanting to get the very best out of your music Erik and that ending is superbo. !!!!
Love the guitars and the ending is superb! Voted :)
Awesomeness Erik. Your playing is superb. Nice layout of this track. I can't comment on previous versions.. well you have previously versions on just about everything. A sign of someone who wants the best and that's admirable and it shows big time. I even like the way drums sound on this. Gee man this is so Impressive.
Super clarity now - not just on the backing but your vocal sells the lyrics and sounds great Erik. Love those guitars and that´s one hell of an ending too! Yeah....
I love your music Erik, always an intense and refreshing listen, I love the great instrumental opening, and then when your vocals come in, it elevates this track higher, it ramps it up further. I also love your lyrics on this one, a totally awesome sentiment, that is blues inflected, and haunting! Cheers, Andrew
Great arrangement, Erik, and some of your smoothest performances and production I've heard. Guitars sound fantastic, those acoustic tracks blend very nicely, and work really well with that drum kicking in on the outro. Lyrics and vocals fit this piece..very soulful, you're pouring your heart into this ain't ya? Enjoyed, and voted..great job man :)
Hi Erik~ hey now... just have to say- I cranked this up when spinning~ dig how you sing & play on this one- it has that cool, funky, soulful- blues that I like so much! I admire hearing someone performing with heart 'n soul! =Bravo= :)
Nice job on this track. The guitar playing is very nice!
You know the this song so well now Eric you play it with ease and you made a super job on all counts. Bravo
Just tapped it on and its good ...! Vox just started.. great sound man! Like the title, i just went through an episode of sorts myself... i hate to be a critic but i heard a little off time a bit ago.. but now all is great! ;) haha! Im also a petatonic player.. (however you spell that).. love blues scales! Decent amount of groove.. great vox, solid petatonic guitar layer... nice track! Reminds me of my "Spiggity"! No vox but youd probably enjoy a listen man.. search "David Allen Bitton" and catch "Spiggity" if you got a minute or three! ;)
Hey Erik, how did I miss this one? I could have sworn I left you some words, but anyway I love your persistence and attitude. You doggedly pursue perfection in each and every tune you pen and this one has some really sweet guitar. Love the ending! Great work! Keep keeping on! Rated!
Really enjoyed the intensity of the track. Can tell you have passion and feeling for music in the way you express yourself vocally and lyrically. Very cool guitar sound. Love Wednesday x
Good tune Erik, very Cobain if you don't mind me saying. Only thing, the lead acoustic (right channel) sounds a bit bolted on, if you know what I mean. It very often wanders off regardless of the chord sequence. There are places where it is just a distraction - I'd be tempted to get the editing knife out and be ruthless, or replay one or two parts. Drums sound like they're being played in another room, the guitars are so intense they're overwhelming everything else, including your vocals. Another careful mixdown is required I think. Basically, it's a common mistake to try and get everything sounding as loud as everything else, and it just doesn't work! Anyhoo, all said and done, good stuff.
The best thing about an Eric Jurado track is it features Eric Jurardo. Not only do you have a Rock Stars name you sound more and more like with every track. The duelling guitars are superbly executed throughout and I could have listened to this as an instrumental. Vocals have also improved massively but my usual point remains that personally I would like them to be prominant in the mix as at times the higher frequencies of the guitar over dominate. Generally however you should feel rightly proud of this one. Ant
Hi Erik, love acoustic music, don't know how i missed this, three guitars left, right and centre battle it out, brilliant, have a thumb.
Right in there all guns blazing.Ripping guitar work.love the tone of the guitars also like the stop @ 2.08 i use those silents tricks now an then. The vocal's are recording just right love the attitude. One quality tune and ending.Pete.
builds up to quite a frantic track :) thanks for the comments on my page :) starts out quite laid back but by the end it had roared :) reminds me alittle of cheech and chong lol mad yet enjoyed :)... peace,Ricky
Frack me. This has an awesome sound man. Those two different guitars left and right are hypnotizing me i swear.Bending my fracking mind to your will. I must nominate to charts..... I must nominate to charts...... I must nominate to charts...... I must
Awesome arrengement and feel man!!
Hi Erik, My first listen to your music, I think, and I really like the way this track develops. Firstly, some really fine acoustic work here, I especially like the multiple layers working with the drums from 2:35 onwards. Someone else mentioned the panning being a bit extreme, but I would say this is valid only for the intro when you just have the two guitar lines - once the vox and bass come in it balances nicely to me. Might benefit from some vocal harmonies, but maybe you thought there was enough going on already!Anyway, good stuff, all the best, Jon.
Hope you get there :-) You really know how to work a guitar and construct an intense tune. Kudos to you and your talent. J&P;
I don't know wether to love it or hate it? That's what makes this song great! Eric, you've tapped it -don't let the well run dry. I'll be keeping my eye on your music! -Mike
Love your experimental nature, always looking for something different, and that makes each track something to look forward to. (wondered whether the panning of the guitar layers was a tad too separated)...loved the 2:09 and following section...seemed to be more "together" in the audio field. You've got a good voice for this acoustic piece too ;) Like the panned layers in the ending...THAT was a gem ;) Great job on this Erik! Thumbs! *hope you find your way back ;)
Your experiment worked and this recording sounds so much better than I remember. Good song and can´t believe how far you have come in a couple of years. Love that outro - you crazy man you!!! Thumbs arriba..
Stellar acoustic work Erik - has your usual intensity - love it when the band sound kicks in and im riding along on the trip - getting lost in the guitar work - quite a tour de force in my opinion - excellent songwriting - fantastic work in all aspects - one of the best ones you've done i think. THUMB. James
